Rohrabacher and Righeimer In Honduras
NO REST...
Just when you thought the holidays were going to keep things nice and calm, stuff, as they say, happens.
WIKILEAKS: ROHABACHER IN HONDURAS
Over at the Surf City Voice Editor John Earl has posted a very provocative essay captioned, "Wikileaks: Rohrabacher subverted U.S. foreign policy and shilled for friends on Honduras trip." You can read that essay HERE.
RIGHEIMER WITH HIM
I'm not going to try to re-state any of Earl's report except to note that the trip in question apparently took place roughly eleven months ago and the entourage that accompanied Representative Dana Rohrabacher included Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem James Righeimer.
IS THIS "NEWS"? YOU DECIDE
Earl uses as his source for this story information leaked by Wikileaks and provides the full text of the leaked message. I'll leave it to you to read the report and make your own assessment of the issue. Is this newsworthy? Maybe. It involves our Congressional representative - a Costa Mesa resident - and his pal, our Mayor Pro Tem. Read and decide.

It's news to you Geoff because you are infatuated with Jim Righeimer. Would you post this if it had been Katrina Foley and Rohrabacher? No. Every chance you can to imply that Righeimer is up to no good, you jump at. It's your new norm. I'm not surprised.
Is there something wrong here? If so, let me know because I don't see it.
So Righeimer helped Honduras with financial aid just like he helped FMW get financial aid from the state of California? Way to go Riggy. What a great way to run up a deficit. Costa Mesa will be bankrupt in no time!!!
Can Righeimer even speak Honduran?
The gerrymandered 46th district is about to be re-drawn.If you look up gerrymander , our congressional district is the one they use as an example of abuses. After 11 consecutive terms it looks like we might finally be rid of this nutcase congressman. Unfortunately the damage has been done .
Uncle, I'm always concerned about some American like you who don't seem to understand or don't like to know our history, particularly our policies, in Latin America during military dictatorships. I encourage you to read "Condemn to Repetition" by Robert Pastor, an analytical book looking our fail policy during the 70s, and 80s in Central and South America. More than a year ago now, an elected President in Honduras became victim of a military coup de eta. That was the first after decades of democracy in this region. I was disappointed that our government didn't do enough to restore democracy in this country, instead we did as much as possible to legitimize a de facto regime. Well, just think what Rohrabacher is doing in Honduras?
Humberto, are you not a writer or teacher of some sort? "coup de eta?" Please don't tell me you meant "coup d'etat" because it would only reinforce my opinion of the low literacy bar in most America today.
I would love to see Rohrabacher gone along with his wasteful socialist C-17 jobs program he uses to appease the unions.
Sorry guy, my Latin is as good as my English, but I can assure you that my Spanish could get me un Premio Nobel.

In addition to Huntington Beach-based PEN1, the largest white-supremacist gang in the nation, the take-down netted members of the Aryan Brotherhood, La Mirada Punks, West Coast Costa Mesa Skins, Nazi Low Riders and the O.C. Skins, prosecutors said.
"I Can Spell" - "Low literacy bar in most America"? That's what happens when you get snotty, you leave word out.
And Humberto, coup d'etat ain't Latin, it's French, mon amigo.
This story is beautiful somehow, I've been digesting it before I make my own version. (Been on deadline writing Xmas music y'know.) Crazy Dana has a long long history of conducting his own rogue diplomacy, most notoriously with the Taliban right before 9-11. And often, as in this Honduras case, he is directly and knowingly subverting America's foreign policy. He was down there in Honduras giving aid and comfort to a military coup - because it was a rightwing coup against a democratically elected leftwing leader. It's SO perfect that Riggy was there. He is a Dana in embryo. We've witnessed him comporting himself on the Costa Mesa stage exactly as Dana comports himself on the world stage: no rules apply to either of them ... and we know he aims to take Dana's place. Oops, giving away too much of my own piece here...
Geoff, I wish you would put up this Christmas carol, the greatest performance of Jingle Bell Rock ever:

(I've already put it up, but your readers should hear it too.)
After I sent the note to Geoff, I realize it was French, and I knew someone was gonna get me on that one. Feliz Navidad Vern
