A Fairview Park Perspective

SOMETHING TO CONSIDER
Here' something to consider as you plan to attend the City Council and the Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee meetings next week. See my previous entry for the details of the meeting times, dates and locations.   Sorry, but my primitive tools prohibit me from making it  a "hot link", so you'll have to copy and paste it in your browser window.

EXCELLENT SUMMARY
This is an excellent summary of Fairview Park history and the current state of affairs in that has been called "The Jewel Of Costa Mesa".  Of course, it does have a good dose of opinion mixed in, too.

Why does Mensinger hate Costa Mesa so much?

Can't say we're too fond of him either.

In 1974 when facing impeachment over the coverup of Watergate and other missteps, Richard Nixon salvaged what was left of his integrity and resigned.

Steve Mensinger should do the same thing.

I got a huge laugh (courtesy of Stevie) reading the DP article on the Native American settlement in Fairview Park! "...Mensinger...believes that that the city will follow the proper procedures, per Righeimer's direction." What an oxymoron (actually 2 morons...)! Right, Stevie, proper procedure, just like the wink and nod the RIGmeister gave you for the illegal DG pathway you installed in the park? (Deny, deny, deny - that's my story and I'm sticking to it, right, Stevie?) Just like the issuing of the layoff notices to the CM employees? Just like telling the 60th anniversary planning committee they had to use his buddy, Scott Baugh's wife's company Taste of OC for the anniversary party? And the list can go on and on. Proper procedures my ass! What a joke. But it isn't funny when you realize these malfeasant miscreants are using their elected positions for their own personal, as well as outsider interests', agendas that has nothing to do with what the overwhelming majority of CM citizens want or need (just like the RIGmeister's "charter" scheme). November 2014 can't come soon enough for our city!

I thought that was the best indepth piece written to date about Fairview Park. It did have a bit of suspense about what's next with little prince stevie. Is there more to come? I agree Nixon resigned (shouldn't have, but that's another topic), steve doesn't have the character to do such. he likes to say it's all about the kids. Reality is, it's all about what's in it for him.

Joe, except after the park debacle we know he has no integrity, right along with the Pop Warner boosters.

Where is integrity these days?

The leadership of Costa Mess-a gets ZERO rating for integrity. Steve, YOU made a mistake. Own it and move on.

IF your sons made a mistake, would you have them run and hide and deny any wrongdoing? If so, you are a lousy parent.

Man up, Steve.

Steve did man up. He actually took responsibility for the new stadiums at CMHS and Cdm. He posted a comment to the Daily Pilot article, stating he had set the bar higher. Katrina responded with a (?) and he deleted his acceptance speech response.

Got an e-mail from the local AYSO commissioner tonight urging families to show up for the meeting with kids in uniform, etc.

I believe that's straight out of the Mensinger playbook: "Use kids to further our political cause."

They have yet to actually acknowledge their plan of developing the park into fields, let alone for him to acknowledge his role in the building of the path, but this seems to clarify things.
