Lies, Lies And More Lies!

THE LIES PERSIST
Yesterday, October 31st, many voters in District 3 received the mailer displayed below.  Each of the four (4) pages is shown.

BLATANT MISREPRESENTATION
As you can see, any reasonable person would assume this was distributed by the Democrats - the two images of the donkey, for example, implies a level of officialness to this piece.  And, since this thing clearly touts Sandy Genis and Brett Eckles as the right candidates for mayor and District 3, respectively, those voters might logically assume that Democrat officials support those two candidates. I'm told similar, but not exactly the same, mailers in other districts with the same misleading messages.

 THE MISLEADING FRONT PAGE

THE DISCLAIMER
This is a blow-up of the Notice to Voters box in the lower right corner.  Please note the last statement.  It tells the reader that the "Appearance is paid for and authorized by each candidate and ballot measure which is designated by an *"  Well, Brett Eckles carries that designation on the back page, so one can logically assume that not only endorsed this mailer, but authorized it (paid for it?).

Back page clearly carries the * adjacent to Eckles name, indicating he endorsed and authorized (paid for?) this mailer.

DESPERATION
This mailer reflects the desperation on the part of the Sandy Genis faction in this election.  They are in a panic and, with less than a week to go, are pulling out all stops to lie, defame and discredit Katrina Foley and those she supports.  Every voter should consider this kind of deceit when marking their ballot.  A vote for Genis and Eckles is a vote to perpetuate the developer-controlled interests that have dominated the political discussion for that past decade.

THE CHOICE IS EASY
With every attempt to deceive voters Genis and her developer-funded faction make the choice easier.  Katrina Foley for Mayor - Andrea Marr for District 3 - Manuel Chavez for District 4 and Arlis Reynolds for District 5.

Lies and Innuendo

INNUENDO
Today, in his CM Press #577, The Mouth From Mesa North tip-toed right up to the line as he presented not-to-veiled innuendo about the possibility of criminal mis-management of funds by the Costa Mesa High School Foundation and the Costa Mesa Senior Center Board.

SHAKY COMPARISON
In his most recent rant he compares those two situations to the Stephen Wagner embezzlement from the Newport-Mesa Unified School District more than a decade ago. Wagner was sent to prison, where he died in custody.

MAKIN' IT UP
This racist blow hard fancies himself, as Mike Scheafer said recently, as the guardian of all things in Costa Mesa and the reporter of all "facts", just because he played a reporter - badly - in a truly awful mid-1970s movie. In fact, he consistently gets his "facts" wrong. That seems not to bother him, because he simply makes up "facts" to fit his bias.

JUST THE FACTS
If The Mouth has proof of misconduct by by members of the Costa Mesa High School Foundation or the Senior Center he is duty-bound to present that proof to the proper authorities. He should put up or shut up!

RE-READ HIS LAW BOOKS
This buffoon tells us that, among the many failed careers he has had, was that of a lawyer. If so, he needs to go back and re-read the sections in his law books regarding libel and slander. Although he sometimes doesn't act like it, he is an adult and is responsible for his actions.

PREYING ON THE WEAK-WILLED
The really sad part about this guy's rants is that some of the weak-minded members of the City Council take what he says as the truth and act accordingly. They, with him leading the way, are turning our city into a place where governance comes with an iron fist. That's a shame.

LIES FLOURISH AT CM OPEN
The CM Press apologists over at the CM OPEN continue to foist off lies on their handful of readers. I've continued to visit the site, hoping for something substantive and worth my time. So far, all I've found is lie after lie, which is very disappointing, but not unexpected. Obviously, they cannot defend their idol with logic and facts, so they must resort to lies, distortions and attacks on those of us - this site and others - who offer opposing viewpoints.

CONSIDERING THE SOURCE
I don't mind a little spirited discussion on issues, but that seems not to be the goal of that hit site. It appears, based on their first few pathetic efforts, that the only goal they have is to defend the CM Press, which makes one curious about the author(s). We'll assume, unless proven otherwise, that CM OPEN is generated (maybe I should say degenerated) by the same source as the CM Press.

I SIMPLY MUST CHUCKLE
I must confess no small degree of amusement as the distortions presented at the CM OPEN and CM Press are debunked on an almost daily basis at sites like CM TRUTH and CMunimPRESSed.

I CONCEDE...
It's not really worth my time to get into a peeing contest with that site. I'll concede that they've got the biggest bladder. Heck, I'll concede that they are full of excremental effluent, too, since that seems to be the case based on their contributions so far.

PERFECT IMAGE
Incidentally, that image above is the world-famous Manneken Pis, in Brussels, Belgium. You see it here in it's "raw" condition, but it may frequently be found dressed in any manner of garb. Occasionally it's stolen - the thing is only a couple feet tall - but is usually located and returned. I thought the image of an infantile urinator was perfectly appropriate for a blog entry about the CM OPEN.

More Lies From Mesa North (And Elsewhere)

SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA DO...
You know, I really don't like writing about the author of the CM PRESS blog, but sometimes - most of the time - the stuff he spews just flat-out demands a response.

RECENT LIES
Take today, for example. In his #500, "New Study Says Boot Illegals And You Boot Gangs!", The Mouth From Mesa North cites as the authority for his premise a report from the Center for Immigration Studies, and provides a link to its "report".

EXAMINING THE SOURCE
So, I visited the site, read the report, then did a little investigation of the organization. It comes as no surprise that this organization has been linked to many far-right groups, including several that advocate white supremacist views. It publishes it's "reports" in what appears to be a scholarly manner on a slick web site and claims to be objective. However, if one takes the time to read some of these reports it becomes clear that this group is an anti-immigrant organization, pure and simple. Its handiwork panders to the radical right, who use it to justify overt racist actions. The CIS has been widely criticized for it's body of work and many of it's officials have direct ties to organizations supporting the White Supremacist view of the world.

BIAS IS OBVIOUS
And, sometimes, their reports border on the ridiculous. Take, for example, their recent report, Immigration to the United States and World-Wide Greenhouse Gas Emissions, in which they tell us that immigration is responsible for Global Warming! Good grief! As I plowed through this voluminous tome I half-expected to find a sub-title stating, "Immigrants Pass Gas, Melt Ice Cap!"

UNDERSTAND HIS TACTICS
Just remember, dear friends, that it's important to consider the source when considering what is written on the CM Press. Understand that the author is far from an objective purveyor of truth - he's an overt racist and the thread of white supremacy runs through almost everything he writes. He takes the content of his radical views published at several venues on the web and massages them for local consumption in an attempt to manipulate his readers and the politicians he influences to follow his lead.

UNDERSTAND HIS MOTIVES
His endorsement of candidates for city council is clearly made to advance his goal of making our city the "whitest" place on earth. Conversely, those candidates he criticizes pose a threat to his attempt expunge every non-white face from our city (and country, for that matter).

ARE HIS CHOICES RACISTS?
Am I saying those candidates he endorses are racists? No, I'm not. What I am saying, though, is that he apparently views them as being in tune with his global view of our city and will be easily maneuvered into following his lead. Does this make them bad men? No, just men who he thinks can be manipulated by a clever guy with an insidious agenda.

CONSIDER THE SOURCE
So, when you read a screed from the CM Press and react by thinking, "Hey! That guy makes a lot of sense!", please take a moment to consider the source. Consider his motives before you jump on his bandwagon. He's a very smart fella, who knows how to twist (or fabricate) facts to play to your worst fears. He's not the first man in history to do this, as World War II demonstrated to us, but he's "our guy", trying to screw up our city with his racist agenda. The only way to stop him is to not vote for "his" candidates and neutralize his influence on the future of our city.

CM OPEN LIES TODAY, TOO
In his surrogate blog, the CM OPEN, more lies persist. In it's edition today the liars that write that stuff accuse me of deleting portions of my blog entries - which I didn't. This is a perfect example of just why readers should take what is written there with a huge grain of salt. Both the CM Press and CM OPEN - probably written by the same person - are festering repositories of lies and fabrications.

CM Press Spins a Tragedy

SENSELESS, VICIOUS ATTACK FILMED
Both the Daily Pilot and Orange County Register report today that a mentally disabled teenager from Ensign Middle School was beaten recently and the video record of the beating was posted on the MySpace web site. According to the news accounts, the perpetrators of this heinous crime have been arrested, as well as those responsible for filming it. Neither article gave specifics about the identities of the victim nor the perpetrators.

SPINMEISTER AT HIS WORST
However, that didn't stop the racist manipulator over at the CM Press from twisting this tragedy for his own purposes. In his rant published just before 6: 00 a.m. today, HERE, he alleges a cover-up by the Daily Pilot because they did not report the race of the perpetrators and goes on to say, "Because the perps are identified as Newport Harbor High School students, white hating bloggers are already jumping to the conclusion that it was rich white kids involved. This has not been established."

FABRICATION, NOT JOURNALISM
Well, I've checked both articles and the accompanying blog comments. In neither publication was there any comment made assuming rich white kids were involved as of the time I posted this entry. He's fabricated this assumption to inflame a terrible situation and to attempt to place the blame on non-whites. This is typical of his form of "journalism". He fancies himself a "reporter" just because he played one in a pathetic movie 35 years ago. He makes up "facts" to suit his bias and has consistently done so over the years in his blog. Sadly, he has a group of followers here in town that actually believe his tripe.

Truth In Advertising, Mansoor-style

Over the past holiday weekend a friend alerted me to the following item on the Orange County Republican Party web site:

Now, especially following the recent holiday, this seemed like a worthwhile event, so I called the number listed for more information. Danielle Jacobs answered the telephone and, responding to my question about this event, told me that it is, in fact, a fundraiser for Mayor Mansoor. He will donate 10% of the proceeds to the Veteran's Memorial Project. So, for your minimum $249.00 "contribution", less than $25.00 will go to the Veteran's Memorial Project. The remainder will be stuffed into the mayor's pockets for his next run for public office. Or, maybe he will use it to fund other candidate's campaigns, as he did in the case of Wendy Leece last time around.

Now, I suppose there's really nothing wrong with misrepresenting the purpose of this fundraiser. I mean, politicians lie as a standard practice - just as the mayor did during the past campaign when he misrepresented his opponents in his campaign literature and during public forums.

However, doesn't it make you wonder just a little bit what else he's been lying about? I do. It's this kind of chicanery that will make me question every move he and his majority make.

If you thought, as I did, that this meeting was to raise significant dollars for the Costa Mesa Veteran's Memorial, you're probably very disappointed. You'll find that you can contribute $250.00 for two personalized bricks and all of your contribution goes to this worthy cause - not into the pockets of some politician.
