Sad, sad news.

Was this the girl that was hit by Newport Harbor High a number of years ago by the woman under the influence of prescription drugs?

Not so sure... don't think they live in the area, but maybe they did then.

It isn't clear if this woman died as a result of injuries sustained in 2012, or if this is another accident. Does anyone know?

Several unregistered commenters - we don't post comments from folks who are not registered - have angrily told us that the person mentioned in the article Honeyman posted is NOT the Crystal Morales who passed away in the car accident earlier this week and the subject of this post. We apologize if posting that link cause the Morales family any discomfort at this tragic time.

The reason I questioned it in the first place was the ages didn't seem to add up. It would appear that the young lady who was hit by the car a few years ago would be a year or two older now.

However, shouldn't there have been some story reported about the daughter of a CM police officer? Where did this accident take place? When did it happen?

I don't mean to in any way to exasperate the immense pain the people involved must be going through, I am just curious.
