Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee Meeting Cancelled - AGAIN!
WHAT IS GOING ON?
Here's the most recent WTF! moment coming out of Costa Mesa City Hall! When will this stop?
ON AGAIN, OFF AGAIN...
This morning, just before 11:00 a.m., the City distributed the agenda for the Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee meeting, scheduled for next Wednesday, March 4, 2015. I took a peek at it and planned to write about it a little later in the week, so you wouldn't forget about it.
AGENDA DISAPPEARED
Then, just a couple minutes ago, we received another announcement that the meeting was cancelled!!! I tried to check the link to the earlier agenda - poof! - it's gone!
THE STAFF WAS READY
You will recall that the previous meeting of the FPCAC was cancelled because of a screw-up in the noticing of the meeting and there was a problem getting the extensive staff reports completed in time for the meeting. I inquired earlier in the week and was told those staff reports are all set and ready for presentation to the committee. Then the meeting is cancelled!
WORD FROM ON HIGH - CANCEL THE MEETING
So, I called City Hall to get some clarification on this situation and was told that this meeting was cancelled because of a "meeting conflict" - which must mean the community-driven sober living meeting being held on March 4th at College Park Elementary at the same time. I'll write about that meeting separately, but this is a very interesting situation, to say the least.
APRIL 1ST - PERFECT!
And, as I type this the NEW notification of the next Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee meeting arrived in my inbox. It will be held, so very appropriately, on April 1st! That is, unless it turns out to be an April Fool's Day prank and they cancel that one, too! You can read the agenda for that meeting HERE. In a nutshell, there will be presentations about the viability, or lack thereof, of the following elements in the Southeast Quadrant of the park:
MORE ON THE OTHER MEETING SOON
More on that meeting in a month. Now you city watchers can schedule your evening for College Park Elementary School next week.

Sounds like the rookie has taken a step back and is seeking guidance from his Newport bosses. He knows that most citizens want the park left alone, but he doesn't have a good strategy yet to distract and deceive on the issue.
Paving with DG and calling for a survey have failed.
