La Femme Wonkita Is Back!

SHE'S BAAAACK!
Costa Mesa City Councilwoman, and former mayor, Sandra Genis has resurrected her personal blog, La Femme Wonkita, after a more than two-year hibernation and is back with a vengeance!

ASSESSING THE CAFR
Her re-launch effort, HERE, is titled, "Material Weaknesses" in Accounting?, and deals with the recently-released Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) that reports the city's financial status as of June 30, 2013.  Yes, it DOES take that long for this document to be produced.

READ HER WORK
I won't steal her thunder - go to her site and read what an intelligent, experienced, detail-oriented public servant thinks on this issue.  Here's a little tease.... she quotes a segment of the report that says, "a structured ethics policy establishes organizational standards for ethics, morals, and an overall 'regard for the rules' … within an entity."  You get the idea...

HOLDING THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE
I'm very glad Sandy Genis is back on the council and is taking the time to research issues and challenge the attempts by the council majority to run roughshod over city government.  Makes me smile when I think about it.

WELCOME...
Welcome back, La Femme Wonkita...

We are also happy about her being on the council. We are very, very glad that there is a couple there to be the voice of reason.

A sensible, honest, intelligent Republican. Not extinct but very rare these days.

Hear! Hear! (not so) Dumbbiker.

and ditto Pot Stirrer. Like my spouse who occcaisionaly posts here as CMTaxpayer says..."We are not all baugh sheep"

He also has continually reminded me that actions speak louder than words, and the spending (and spending and spending) practices of the current council majority are not the actions of real fiscal conservatives.

to further what dumbbiker said: i first didnt know her affiliation, but i assumed it wasnt what riggy and the boys were. I just presumed she was what i am (a dem)-- i was happy to find out i was wrong! Its nice to see an independent thoughtful person no matter the party! She represents the Rs well! So do you Mr Stirrer!

Its funny how just being sensible and honest can bridge a gap like that! :)

When will professed "independent" blogger Popp admit he has a dog in the race- Ramos?

If Geoff West became someone's supporter or campaign manager he'd be headlining that fact.

Both Sandy and Wendy work very hard to represent both Republicans and :Democrats, as it should be since theirs is a non partisan position. The mayor and mayor pro tem should pay attention rather than just favoring their campaign contributors.
