What Did He Say?

NEWPORT BEACH DOCK FEES
At the Newport Beach City Council meeting yesterday, December 11, 2012, the only item on the agenda was the contentious issue of the proposed increase in dock fees.  The new council chambers was packed with folks interested in this issue.  The council DID approve the changes.  You can read Jill Cowan's account of the meeting in the Daily Pilot, HERE.

EVEN THE RICH HAVE ISSUES
Lots of folks spoke on this issue, which will raise the fees folks pay by several hundred or several thousand dollars.  Even in a city where discretionary income seems not to be much of a problem, these proposed increases have really struck a chord with many wealthy residents.

HOW DO YOU FEEL, RUSH?
A couple hours into this discussion councilman Rush Hill was attempting to address his concerns with the current proposals and was clearly exasperated by this process and with some of the opponents of the planned increases.  "How exasperated?" you ask...  Well, just watch this short video clip and you'll have that answer.  He kind of reminds me of former Costa Mesa mayor Eric Bever...

Newport ishaving several controversial issues which is nice to see.

Having Rush Hill as Mayor Pro Tem is a good example of what life would be like with Wendy Leece.

Every Council meeting would be followed by, what did Wendy say.

However, in some ways Rush was right. Like in CostaCosta Mesa, we suffer because prior council or staff failed to make the tough decisions and made selfish self preservation decisjons.

Costa Mesa is now experiencing leadership. That is why some don't recognize it. They have not seen it in a while.

We shouldn't mind if Rush has the strength to call it like it is. And, we shouldn't mind if Leslie has the strength to 'just say no'. This is a tough process and it's proved to be taxing and human. A great irony is that all 'the Conservative strip tactics and not tending to Prop13' at the State level has come home to roost locally. Is it any wonder that things get a little crazy on the front lines.

Rush Hill is just a pissed off & bitter old man. Language like that has no place in pubilc forum, from eihter sides of the dias. What a sad old timer he is.

I thought recent meetings in CM were more about 'What did Bever say?'

That said (nice segue), prior council consisted of Bever, Monahan, Mansewer, etc. - same crappy leadership that Riggy and Mensy provide. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Ah, just in time for the holidays, we have another mayor invoking the Blessed Excrement. In so doing, he upholds not only his own, but all citizens' rights of free speech, just as did former Mayor Eric Bever in his on-the-microphone comment. Will this whole back-and-forth-without-acknowledgement between Mayors escalate itself into, not a pissing, but a "sh*tting" contest? Stay tuned for Da Noo Mare Righeimer's entry into this contest. (The "*" above is so it perhaps passes your muster, Geoff - My only regret is that I have but one "*" for my country, or my city.)

Costa Mesa is now experiencing mis-leadership. Unfortunately we have been experiencing it for a while. 2 years too long.

To 'Will Wendy sing a poem?'

You certainly are obsessed with Wendy, aren't you
Marty?
First the paparazzi moves trying to get a photo of her house and now the analogies that always include her.
Heck it's in this username.
Wendy has nothing to do with this, yet there's her name, again and again in your post.
Very obsessive and creepy, Marty.

Rush Hill is an embarrassment to the city of Newport Beach as is Nancy Gardner for not admonishing Hill for his unprofessional and disgusting use of language. When a person such as Hill demonstrates bad behavior then expect the public to dish it right back. Hill reminds me a lot of Dick Nichols

Rush Hill is Newports Eric Bever. Both are clueless and potty mouths in front of the people that voted them in. Shame on Rush.
