Friday Election Results Update
FRIDAY RESULTS POSTED
The Orange County Registrar of Voters has updated the results of their counts shortly after 5:00 Friday afternoon. Those new numbers are shown below. The next update will be at 5:00 Tuesday - Monday is Veteran's Day.

WHAT'S LEFT TO COUNT?
Total ballots - 171,815
Vote-by-mail ballots - 4,513
Provisionals - 78,394
Vote-by-Mail ballots returned at the polls - 80,417
Election day paper ballots - 8,491
UPDATED RESULTS
The percentages remain about the same. Genis extended her lead on Mensinger. Stephens gained another 22 votes on Monahan for the critical third spot. 7,143 balots left to count. It looks like the non-candidate candidates, Melone and Rader, may total over 5,000 votes when the counting ends!

Is this a protest vote? What a complete WASTE!
people tend to pick the first name and last name on the ballot when the don't know how to pick. Those positions get bonus votes.
Sando -- Nah, it's probably people doing Martin Millard-style "bullet" voting, or else Chinese restaurant menu picks (one from group A, two from group B).
It's now showing:
GARY MONAHAN 12,259 15.7%
JOHN STEPHENS 12,069 15.5%
Although, I couldn't tell how may more votes were to be counted

Malone and Rader distorted the final results?
More significantly, Weirzberg had a tremendous negative impact on the top three's results -- all his votes (about 10,000) would have likely changed who will be seated for the next 2 years were he not running!
