POLITICAL SIGN THEFTS CAUGHT ON VIDEO
Over at the mean-spirited Costa Mesa Taxpayers Association Facebook page, President Jim Fitzpatrick
is posting a video clip that was apparently taken over the weekend on
Fair Drive of a man stealing campaign signs. You can watch that dark,
grainy video below. There is a $500 reward being offered for the
apprehension of this guy.
In an effort to help with the apprehension of this person I snatched some images from the video and enhanced them. You can see those below.
DON'T BE STUPID - STOP STEALING SIGNS!
Please understand that I think this whole sign-stealing thing is stupid, petty, juvenile and just plain wrong - regardless which side of the political argument you are on. I hope all of you who are involved will just STOP.

Since you seem to believe the Costa Mesa Taxpayers Association is 'mean-spirited', I wonder what you would call the personal, vitriolic comments from your readers against Mr. Mensinger, Righeimer, Monahan, Fitzpatrick, et. al. If mean spiritedness is so offensive to you, why do you publish it?

There are a couple questions that come to mind....Who is offering the $500 reward? And secondly, what was Fitzy doing, just happen to be hanging out with video camera?
Who did the video? Why didnt they get out and confront the guy? Or at least yell to not steal the signs. If they were to afraid to get their butt kicked, why didnt they follow him to his house and get an address? Or a license plate?
This is like the infamous Big foot walking in the forest video. $5 says it is a set up. Why didnt they outsource the set up like they do their signs and call center to a FOREIGN country?
Kerry King would give the sign a hard look and it would burst into flames.

Regarding this Sign Thief video, forgive me for being a bit skeptic, but I find it hard to believe you really care about the 3M and Measure V signs. Watching this bastard steal and destroy signs is criminal and I hope he goes to jail as a result. I also hope we find out who his employer is and loses his Union backed job. We will find out soon enough all his connections to YOUR favored candidates. It’s too late now.

You have been attacking our city CouncilMen and anyone who is aligned with them in the most ruthless, mean spirited way for many years. Not only do you attack the politician, you attack the person, his appearance, his family, his wife, his kids and whatever else you can think of. You find fault in everything and anything they do. You fabricate conspiracy theories and you allow your proxies to do the same day after day without end. You post goofy pictures of them, you equate them to farm animals, make fun of their looks, their speech, their hair, how they walk, etc. You do all this every day on every issue no matter what good they do for our city. You sir are so full of hate you are blinded to any good they do. The reality is they do a lot of good and will continue to do so way after November 6th.
This Sign Thief video shows one of YOUR allies doing this most despicable act but I know it really gives you great pleasure. Why shouldn’t it? It is not your property he is destroying and you think it helps your cause. Watch as the bastard ignores the Weitzberg sign and tears up the 3M sign. The Measure V sign is too thick but if he had his pocket box cutter, he most likely would have torn that to shreds also. Mr. West, this man and you are at the same level in the evolutionary scale. Stop with the fake pleads of civility. If you were able, I am confident you would be out their helping him with the destruction.

Thanks for your friendly little note. Despite your rant, you will note that I have provided the best images of this guy, hoping they will help identify and apprehend him. Why would I bother if I didn't actually CARE about this kind of misbehavior. He was, after all, swiping signs of those I oppose.
I've watched the video several times and, regardless which feed used, am unable to get a clear view of the guy without stopping the video and snatching the images and massaging them. You're welcome for the effort I expended in doing that. I could have simply ignored it, couldn't I?
I'm sorry you feel the way you do, but I can't do anything about it. I post my views based on the facts as I know them... and I do it with my name attached - not like you anonymous cowards do who hide behind pen names.
I'm comfortable with the contributions I make to this community and the discussion of important issues. If you don't like what you read here just don't bother to visit the site. It takes a pretty stupid person to self-inflict so much pain. Get over it or stay away.

Regarding enhancing the video images, that is kind of like the child abductor helping the search party find the child he murdered and buried.

An hour ago, I posted about the CMTA's link to Millards venom. A half-hour later, a post from CM Taxpayer. Now, that link is gone from the facebook page. You do the math.
They have no shame. They are more than willing to link to that evil, racist, scumbag's trash...until they are caught and shown for the cowardly people they REALLY are.
I am a member of the CM Taxpayers Assoc. I joined this group so I could keep up with their obvious agenda. I am very tempted to post the list of possible suspects in sign-gate. The list shows the straws these under-worked individuals are grasping at.

There are many aspects of the video that raise suspicion of its source. What are the odds of taping someone directly across the street, at the perfect moment, and not being spotted by the alleged culprit? The alleged sign thief isn't covering himself with a disguise, isn't moving in a fast manner as to elude apprehension, and it seems like that is his house and is simply removing signs that were placed on his property or near it. If the video was taken and released by Jim Fitzpatrick then the public should use extreme skepticism regarding its authenticity. Personally I am more unnerved that Fitzpatrick is creeping around Costa Mesa streets, at night, with a camera. If I was giving the choice of calling the police on a man taking down signs on his property or reporting a suspicious man lurking in the dark with a camera then I'm calling on the man hiding with a camera. Jim Fitzpatrick is reminiscent of George Zimmerman. I feel that Fitzpatrick is becoming a danger to our community at-large because of his increasing erratic behavior with his intrusion. If anyone spots Fitzpatrick lurking in the dark with a camera then they should call 911 immediately.
