OC GOP Lie-filled Hit Piece
During this nastiest campaign season I can remember much has been made of "outside influences" on the local campaigns in Costa Mesa. Each side has pointed fingers at the other and whined about mailers being produced by parties not representing the residents of the city that lie, misrepresent issues and otherwise confuse the voters. From the look of the stuff in our mailbox lately, I can tell you that BOTH sides have good reason to complain. Here's an example of what I mean.
THE MESSAGE FROM BAUGH
Over the weekend Scott Loenhorst, Executive Director of the Republican Party of Orange County (OC GOP), sent out the following message to the party faithful:

A MAILER WAS INCLUDED
That little note was accompanied by the images of the front and back of a mailer that will likely appear in our mailboxes early this week. They are full of lies, but most folks will just believe them. For example, the front says "The highest paid City of Costa Mesa Employees DON'T call our city their home...." "Our city.." Really? Baugh lives in Huntington Beach! And, their list includes "Interim Fire Chief" and "Chief Executive Officer", both of whom DO live in Costa Mesa. The rear of the mailer is full of similar lies. You just can't trust these guys!
This kind of institutionalized interference with our local issues gives you a pretty good idea of what I've been saying for years - that the OC GOP, led by Scott Baugh, is trying to make Costa Mesa an experimental petri dish for their plans to remake local government. They've planted Baugh's pal, Jim Righeimer, in our midst and are using our city to perpetuate their onerous plans and Righeimer's political future. And they don't mind telling lies to do it.
TRY TO SORT IT OUT IF YOU CAN...
Please keep that in mind as you try to sort the facts from lies when you fill out your ballots.

it's how you read it. the highest paid do not live in our city (top 2) so factually correct !
the mailer is about CM, thus the words "our city". where baugh lives is irrelevant.
heard anything about a videotape of a sign thief? should be breaking news here.
One thing we'll find out in two weeks is just how knowledgable voters here are.
Righeimer lied to them to get in the door and if they vote the 3Ms and V in after what's gone on since then, they'll be getting what they deserve.
Unfortunatly the rest of us won't.
How do some of you stay Republicans? There is such a thing as being Independent you know.
Wouldn't it be great of the sign thief was a fireman or other union guy? A Teamster? Even better if it is a city hall union guy.

And in other news, underemployed golf cart stalker Fitzy the Moocher got startling new video of someone allegedly stealing a 50 cent sign.
His parents, who reportedly forked out many thousands for a college degree, were heartened to hear of this latest accomplishment.
I got a mailer from some organization named "COPS" and a badge is prominently displayed a few times on the flyer. Very misleading as I am sure many people might be fooled to think a police department or group is behind this. Needless to say, it endorses the 3 stooges. These low-life liars have no ethics. It's sickening to think that they might have another 2 years to drive our city into the ground.

Yeah, that was oscar-worthy cinematography from Fitzy on that video. Thief was straight out of central casting under 'thug' I suppose. The direction was poor, though. So is robutto Fitzy, if he's posting links that lead to videos that say to contact him with more info?

Where is your outrage at the hundreds of thousands of dollars being spent by unions out of Sacramento - openly trying to buy our election? The anti-V mailers are full of lies. Why don't you post them?

If groups in Sacto are spending $$ in Costa Mesa, it's only fair- someone has to counter all the out of state, national right-wing money.
Why even their leader Napoleon Righeimer is a carpetbagger- an overfed little ideologue more comfortable in Fashion Island than anywhere in Costa Mesa.
What do Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny, a brick through Monahan's window, paint on Mensy's truck, Jimmy Hoffa trying to set-up Riggy, and someone stealing ocgop signs have in common?
They're all based on fables for children.
Yea, what ever happened with the DUI? It is not like the Police don't know who made the call to 911. How come nothing has come forward? You would think with all Police that read and post on this blog,that one of them can at least give us an update. Anybody?
