"End Of Watch" - See It!
PART OF MY R & R
As part of my self-imposed relaxation regimen we sat the movie, "End Of Watch" today.
WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?
I hope you'll find time to see this film and then contemplate just what must be in the minds of those folks in our city who seem determined to destroy the lives of the men and women of the Costa Mesa Police Department.
LIARS...
Some of your elected, and appointed, so-called leaders seem willing to let no despicable tactic go unused as they attempt to paint the CMPD as a corrupt organization, filled with slackers who are only in it for the overtime and retirement. They've even taken to vilifying individual retired police officers by lying about their perceived political activities and attempting to make them seem like greedy, lazy individuals who are bleeding the city dry with their pensions, all of which is just flat untrue.

WHAT is this about?
Did our city council members make this movie? Did they endorse it?
Why are you attempting to link this movie to our council's attempt to reign in the former policies that could bankrupt our city.
Maybe you should take some more time off to get your thinking straight!
Unbelievable...
Right on the money as usual.
Let me summarize it for idiots like Jimmy, Marty, and their masters:
Everyone agrees there should be police/other public employee pension reform.
What people like Mr. West and the majority of the citizens in Costa Mesa don't like is a bunch of extremists like Righeimer and his gang taking over the city in the NAME of reform. We know what you're trying to do. It won't succeed.
Do certain people have an alcohol problem? Sure seems like it.
Thank you CMPD.
Help is on the way.
While a cop movie like this doesn't have anything to actually do with Costa Mesa, it does bring to mind cops and what has happened (and more importantly what is going to happen) here in Costa Mesa if Righeimer's 3-Minions get elected.
The FD came up with a plan to get them through the next four years. It includes reducing the number of fire stations, and that will affect response times for now, but it also keeps the department intact and under CMFD control so in the future it can be built on again when the pestilence has passed.
The PD however is absolutely hated by Righeimer. They are slated for destruction.
I know for a fact that there are officers that are waiting for November to decide if they are going to continue their careers here or elsewhere.
Due to the fact that out of thousands of applicants, approx 1% qualify to even be considered (let alone hired) it is easy for a qualified and experienced officer from a top dept like CMPD to simply go elsewhere.
The thousands will still apply but the quality of the officers on the street will start to suffer when the standards are lowered.
If standards aren't lowered, the positions will go unfilled and staffing levels will go below operational. Hello OCSD.
The link between this movie and our Council is just preposterous
Hey "Disgusting" (and you probably are), I think what the gentleman was trying to tell us is this: he saw the movie and it made him stop and think about cops. While thinking about cops, he realized how badly the cops in his own city are being portrayed for political reasons. That the cops come to work, they are dedicated and that they don't do it for the money or the pension (although I'm sure those are both nice). It's called stream of consciousness thinking. However to do so, you have to be conscious and you have to do your own thinking.
From the sound of Marty's latest rantings, I suspect the Righeimer gang, possibly through CM Taxpayers, might be subsidizing his hate blog.
Do Mensy, "Charlie" McCarthy, and Monahan endorse Marty's form of race-obsession and his odd ideas? Are the voters of Costa Mesa aware of this connection?
Geoff,
Please state exactly what lies have been told, who allegedly told them, and about which retired police officer or officers.
Doesn't want green hit it on the head. If this joke of a charter passes, there will be a mass exit of great officers and nobody to fill the spots because King Riggy is holding the PD hostage by not allowing them to hire.
I read Jeff Harlan’s opinion in the Daily Pilot and wonder how much longer they will allow union hit pieces to be published? All Harlan can write about is the big bad city council.
Harlan has tried to get on the Planning Commission several times. This is nothing more than an attempt to please potential City Council candidates in hopes one day he is appointed.
But the biggest offense comes from Geoff West and the rest of the over the hill angry group is that they give Harlan a free pass because they agree with him. If someone were writing favorably about the City Council, they are taking orders from Riggy. A shill. A bootlicker. West loses all credibility with his one sided limited intellect Council Hater focus.
Boys from Brazil,
I noticed that McCarthy does indeed list the Nazi's blog on his endorsement page. Very telling.
Troll Watch Ur Six:
"Harlan has tried to get on the Planning Commission several times. This is nothing more than an attempt to please potential City Council candidates in hopes one day he is appointed."
Yeah Harlan you mooch! Pony up hard cold cash like Mathews did! There's no free lunch in Riggy's Costa Mesa, unless you're Napoleon Righeimer himself.
"..If someone were writing favorably about the City Council, they are taking orders from Riggy. A shill. A bootlicker."
Finally, some of the truth is sinking in. Thank a union teacher. And don't forget that BOOTlicker is merely a polite term..
Is this true? Are Mensinger, McCarthy and Monahan truly being supported by this racist Millard, and are they actually acknowledging his support? If any of the 3 M's are reading this blog, or if their wives, colleagues, etc., are reading this blog, I want to know officially if you are acknowledging that a known anti-Semitic Racist is supporting you and if you are taking or have taken donations from this person. Are you brave enough and man enough to answer that question?
Here is the link to McCarthy's endorsements on his website: http://cm4cm.com/endorsements.php
You can plainly see he is proud to list cmpress as one of his supporters.

Copied from Scotch Tape Dispenser (3M) Colin McCarthy's blog as given by Honeyman. Rumors were that this was so (I'd also heard that Allan Mansoor was one of Millard's Minnows.) Interesting to see it confirmed on McC's website.
Strange bedfellows: When a racist and an Irishman share a bed, they must sleep back-to-back... If, however, one of them is a Scotch Tape Dispenser, they may get stuck together anyway...
Does anyone else see the irony with Charlie McCarthy and Fitzpatrick?
They want to tell you we need this charter because we can't trust Council. Councils get bought and paid for by the Unions. So let's take the approval rights for employees salaries and pension increases from these untrustworthy council members and give it to the voters. OK.
Yet we are going to give these untrustworthy council members more opportunity to be bought and paid for by developers. Which by the way if you haven't noticed they are well connected with developers. Hmmmmm!
If these councils did vote for pension increases then someone needs to ask Monahan how many times did he vote for pension increases and other benefits as payback for Union support?
Specifically which votes did Monahan use as payback for Union support?
How does the CMTaxpayers Association justify their claims?
If this is all about these unsustainable pensions where is the outrage of sliding in 2 of the highest paid employees with the high pension when they could have waited a month or so and hired them under the second tier.
It's all FAKE folks or they would have waited and hired them under the 2nd tier.
Did you all know that CMCEA at least 2 years ago reformed new hires pensions to the same level that it was back in 1978 when they switched from Social Security to what is CalPers today. Also at that time they offered to pay their FULL share and part of the Employer share.
These are the greedy, blood sucking UNON thugs as council and Fitpatrick claim.
Harlan's commentary is spot on.
Jerome Kern, from Oceanside, came to Costa Mesa to help push Riggy's Charter.
He claimed Oceanside was already saving money by not paying prevailing wage on their Harbor Community Center.
The very project he trumpeted as the poster child for savings turned out to be totally false.
The project as Harlan points out not only lost the original contractor and had to be taken on by the bond company to finish it also had to be scaled down so much it's now only a warehouse and bathroom.
The residents of Oceanside got screwed and the project even scaled down to less than half it's original size still cost more than 50% of the original bid and was well behind schedule.
HEY!
The cmpress endorsement has been deleted from McCarthy's web page!
I am glad they acknowledge their error. Obviously, they read and heed this blog.
Honeyman:
"The cmpress endorsement has been deleted from McCarthy's web page!"
Article:
"..Colonic irrigation, also known as "Colon hydrotherapy," is a treatment that takes about 60 minutes. A practitioner inserts a speculum with a hose into your rectum. Warm, mineral-rich water is then filtered into your Colon to break up fecal matter. The water pressure is reversed and the waste matter is then evacuated from your body."
http://www.livestrong.com/article/30562-cleanse-colon-digestive-system/
gYes, Harlan is exactly right.
Often with contractors, you get what you pay for.
Do the best plumbers want to work a "piece rate" or prevailing wage?
Does a contractor with the lowest bid have the ability to perform the contract? Does that guy even know how to bid?
Has anyone even considered what it would costs to have a good contractor fix a crappy contractors work when he goes BK?
Council candidates please address this statement I attribute to Warren Buffet:
Price is what you pay, value is what you get.
Care to bite?
These are the same blood-sucking union thugs that Mr. Francis had heard about before coming to Costa Mesa, only to see first hand that he was being fed the same old lines over and over. Once he was here and sat down with the employee groups, his eyes were opened to the real problem in this City, the Council and the CEO. What happened when Mr. Francis was put on charge with dealing with firefighters union? Deal worked out..
Honeyman, CM Taypayor is Jim Fitzpatrick. He is running the web page. He is also posting in here under several names. He took the link off immediately. Don't be fooled by this fool.
Millard has been endorsing McCarthy for years. Where have you people been? Righeimer is part of anti Gay and Lesbian PAC that tries to hide it's hateful message with the word "Family" These people are scum.
McCarthy may have took down the endorsement but much like the Millard Mansoor connection, it still runs DEEP. Marty the bigot is obsolete. He is nothing more than a passive aggressive bully with a loud mouth. Why do you think the man only served one tour in Nam?
I have no doubt that McCarthy-Riggy-Millard-Mansoor are all cut from the same dirty piece of cloth. My point is that it is obvious that somebody (more than likely Fitzy in-between his daily household chores while Mama Bear works to pay the mortgage, and his hourly trips to the liquor store and Carl's Jr.) was influenced enough BY THE COMMENTS IN THIS BLOG to make the change on the website. They are running scared!!
Well you have to figure, that if the 3Ms support Mansoor, wanted Costa Mesa racially cleansed, and Millard supports them, that there is a deep hatred of at least hispanics. Lets hope none of these bigots get in.
I find it very interesting that the cc union members/minions/bootlickers have not stepped up to the plate to answer "shocked's" question...No attempt to deny or even spin this, just silence....Bingo!!!
And no matter that they are removing these backers/endorsers from showing on their websites, we all know a leopard does not change its spots.
Just by watching these hatefilled cc union members operate from the dais, I've always suspected them to be racists, not to mention homophobes and misogynists. I have no doubt that when they are alone together in the dead animal room at Bloatface's, the derogatory comments and slurs fly. They are prejudice against anybody who is not a straight, white, koolaid drinking gop male, except if you are a developer, but probably behind closed doors, you'll still be fodder for their slurs. Unfortunately, racism and prejudice are alive and well in OC; these people have learned to just keep the comments and slurs among themselves. However, their behavior and actions show them for what they are. (just look at how they treat Wendy Leece up there on the dais!)
Who, but other racists and people with prejudices, would want these people representing them and their city??? Anyone with on ounce of education, civility, and class would be running the other direction - as a majority of CM residents are doing!!
Why'd he accept the enorsement in the first place.? Everyone knows the racist ranter is cmpress. McCarthy wouldn't have accepted his endorsement if he didn't want it.
colonics, racial cleansing, homophopes, racists. Desperation finally setting in !! hehe, lol, haha
Love it. West goes away, but his angry mug will be back.
Meanwhile, back on the ranch, the 3 M's pin a Union label on the CMFRoGs.
CMFRoGs react by attempting to label 3M's and others as racists.
Wait until our mailboxes are full of this crap. Typical Union & Liberal tactics.
CMFRoGs are trying to smear Monahan, who owns a Steakhouse & Pub as a drinker.
Yet the CMFRoGs give a pass to Jim Ferryman who had a DUI while on the School Board and is running for the CM Sanitation District
The worst part is the CMFRoGs anger leads them to believe their thinking is good. And West enables this stinkin thinkin here on his my ball my rules one sided blog.
Just like last election, epic fail.
Back on the subject of cops.... I see that the Pilot has a story on the motor officer that arrested over 400 DUIs in Costa Mesa this year. There is also mention of another four who had over a hundred each.
That's a thousand DUI arrest this year and that is scary if you really think about what that means.
This kind of thing really puts a face to the word "public safety".
These motor officers are the so called "thugs" that Righeimer, Mensinger and some of their followers like to refer to.
Recently Righeimer pointed his finger and put down the word to the chief that if he had to pull all of those motor cops to combat the real crime over on Ford road to do it.
Instead of pulling these guys from the job of keeping me and you from being killed by a drunk leaving Monahan's bar, how bout quitting the political games long enough to staff the PD so the motors can keep doing their job.
I love the comments here by Fitzy and Fitzy light. Calling the blog one-sided....but then again, your comments get printed and are shown here, aren't they? How about your Nazi buddy's blog? There are NEVER any comments to any of his ridiculous rants at all! Either nobody is reading that garbage, or those that want to see waht the radical fringe at up to, like me, are afraid to make a comment lest he have access to our e-mail addresss
Jim, actually CM4RG didin't label anyone as a racist. 3Ms did it themselves, when they accepted the endorsement and linked their CM Taxpayers to his blog. The CMPD association had nothing whatsoever to do with it. 3Ms back Mansoor. He wanted to racially cleanse Costa Mesa from all illegals. Again...they did it to themselves. CMPD association had nothing whatsoever to do with that either.
You need to deal with it. 3Ms are calling "a spade a spade".
we will staff pd as soon as 2nd tier w/o any strings attached. open the contract if u are for public safety and the taxpayers!
How many hours pwer week does Kathy have to work so Jimmy can lick Riggy's "boots" and sit in front of the computer all day writing drivel?
hey jw, i mentioned racist due to comments herein. YOU idiots are playing the race card, colonic instruction card, homophobe card, etc. Deperation. Gotta love it! haha, lol, hehe, bye bye, "Jim", err "Steve" or "?"
Robutto...gee, I don't see your name at all in here. Which name are you also posting under? Go check out CMPress, who endorses the 3Ms. Its a horrible racist site. Apparently this is the kind of people they approve of and approves of them. Check it out for yourself.
I guess bebe is in charge of police staffing, based on the 'we' comment. That's comforting - feel safer already.
Disgusted Republican,
I am not surprised. I didn't think that they had enough courage to actually address it themselves. I figured they would do something like take the link off the website without actually addressing the question. Figures. They are a great example of the reason why I am a disgusted Republican as well.
Pretty interesting - back in the day, ANY reputable paper would call to confirm your name before publishing a letter, in ink and paper. I understand they can't police the cowards that write under monikers like CMTA and Yes on V in the online comments, but if they are going to put it in the actual paper, they might want to take 60 seconds to confirm.
The Daily Pilot has lost all credibility.
WE think Marty Shillard should do us all a favor and take his own advice, SIT DOWN & SHUT UP!!!
Mike, the Pilot is far from reputable.
I'm just going to put this out so people are aware of it, since we are talking about reputable...
If Harper & Matthews get elected, they will combine with Fisler and the Water and San Districts will be combined and rolled over into the city. The money they have accumulated for our sewers will be raided by the city and that will be the end of that.
Something voters need to be aware of.
We expect our newspapers to be always accurate and reliable. We feel the same way about most, if not all, professionals such as doctors, lawyers, and teachers. (Note that I am weaseling the wording here … I certainly don’t want to put myself in the position of claiming something that’s not 100% true after seeing how some commenters have written off the DP for an admitted failure to verify.)
We cut our selves some slack, of course, because we know that we can’t be perfect, at least not all the time (weaseling!). Take the simple act of chewing our food. You might think that by the time we reached adulthood, we’d have it down pat. Turns out that 99.999% or so (weaseling!) of the time we do it perfectly. But occasionally, we turn into hamburger the inside of our cheek, or the side of our tongue. We don’t commit seppuku over it though (although it feels like a minor league suppuku).
I guess (weaseling!) it comes down to how much money a newspaper has available for checking facts. Biggies such as the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and the Wall Street Journal appear to have (weaseling, because I just don’t know for sure!) lots of staff to grind through every edition, trying to make it perfect.
But a small, local newspaper such as the DP – even a regional paper such as the O.C. Register – can’t afford such perfection. It’s because they have a higher ratio of overhead to reporter than the biggies. They don’t have the benefit of economies of scale that biggies enjoy.
So, as with most businesses (weaseling!), they have to cut back on nice-to-haves so that they can still produce the have-to’s.
At least that’s my best guess (weaseling!).
water and san will never be rolled into the City. no one on water or san or city wants it. all have said so. lafco wouldn't allow it. big lie from cm4rg. now, water and san combine might be worthwhile. it will be up to the residents should it get that far. "jw" is incorrect.(as usual)
Hey Tom
Based on your weaseling, less than perfect comments - you might want to occasionally give our current incumbents a pass -- and keep them on the job!
And vote to enact the proposed charter.
Sanman, this comes directly from the candidates. Go check out Harper's page.
I heard that Bever is running for a spot at the water department. If that's true it's news to be, because I've seen a couple of signs around town with " Eric Bever 2012" on it, but that's it not mention of running or anything. Seems like most people put the position that they're running for on their campaign signs, but we all know that Bever is a little slow in the brains department.
Here is a quote:
With legal costs, nice dinners, trips to Monterey and San Diego this Board costs Costa Mesa close to $200,000 per year. Could the Board be consolidated or eliminated?
Don't tell me they aren't planning to raid the money from these districts. Its not even a secret anymore. Wise up.
Bever is running for water board, I believe. Harper and Matthew for san dist. ONce these people are in place, the first thing they do is run to LAFCO. There is over 40 million at stake. Do you think the city won't have their fingers in it? It will be gone so fast you won't even see what hit you.
Don't let the naive fool you. They have plans for that moneyh.
What, that Board costs $200,000? Don Harper seems like a sharp guy. I will vote for him. I don't support this going to the city though.
"jw" is confused. There is a difference between consolidating the water and san district into one special district (which makes sense since san has very few employees and is basically a contract org)and rolling both into the City. VERY Big difference. City doesn't want it. Harper doesn't say it in his website either. Water never would go for it and LAFCO does not do hostile mergers so no way it goes to City. Is a BIG LIE from CM4rg. Don't know the reason to even launch it, who cares? A shiny object from them. Let it go. Not happening, move on to something important and realistic such as 2nd tier pensions for cops.
Chuck Cassity cracks me up. He says in his opening paragraph that what isn't in the charter remains the same as the general laws of the state. He actually repeats that so we all understand it. But that seems to be Chuckie's MO as he thinks he is so much smarter than everyone else and he exhibits his arrogance often.
But then in his very next paragraph he says we should vote for the charter because it frees us from the state and it's general laws. Didn't Chuckie already tell us this is not true and he did it twice in a condescending way too!
Chuck is actually saying onething in his first paragraph and then the complete opposite in the next paragraph. Let me repeat that so people get it. Chuck is actually saying onething in his first paragraph and then the complete opposite in the next paragraph.
His 2nd point makes me wonder 2 things. Which backroom deal did Mansoor, Monahan, Bever and others make as they all approved enhancements to employees pensions?
Secondly if that's the case and we can't trust councils then why are we voting to give them more power as we are going to give them powers over things they don't have now. How can we trust councils if they are so easily bought and paid for. Sure it wont be employees this time buying council votes but their developers buddies buying them like cheap you know whats.
His 3rd point. He mentions savings via, no bids and exempting from prevailing wages. He uses libraries as one of his example.
Well again 2 things. Has anyone checked the 2 libraries example in Northern California? Gilroy and Palo Alto. Google them for information.
Also someone should ask old Chuckie how well did the Oceanside Harbor Community Center turn out? Well it didn't fare well under non prevailing wage and turned out to be just a warehouse and bathroom. It also lost it's contractor and was way behind schedule.
There is more but it seems the Chuck Meister has a pattern of false claims and he even conflicts with his own comments.
I sure hope nobody takes his advice or truat his information.
yeah, chuckie was off but the charter isn't. Vote YES ON V, the majority of people in CA are in charter cities
the big bomb is about to hit. haha Foley.
sanman, if you have both boards stacked, then its not a hostile takeover. LAFCO would most certainly be obliged. And the bootlickers on both boards would see that the money involved is control of the city. Don't even try to tell me they are not after that 40+ millions. Do you really think these guys want jobs on the water/san boards to have their names up in lights?
jw, they are not after the millions. they don't need it, they will be cutting pension/benefit expenses. also, residents must want it too. study lafco process for an understanding. entirely made up fictional story for some unknown reason besides paranoia by perry
Mike, back at you fool. water money would have to stay water, not general fund so it would do no good for Riggy anyway. move on, I am . I will not comment further on this other than to tell everyone reading that JW is making this up, it has no chance, no one wants it, and it is a BIG LIE from CM4rg and paranoid incumbents on San District. First heard it from Perry, he was scared. never heard it again except from a couple idiots like eleanor and terri. no big deal anyway, you have riggy and the 3Ms to work over the next few years. san and water are fine. Out.
Jim, no one tells you anything anyway. First you try to convince everyone that the city is going broke, then try to tell us the city doesn't want the 40+ million in the san and water districts. Which is it? Both are lies.
Why did you fight so hard to keep both positions on each board? You are full of B.S., Jim. We know it, and the OCGOP knows it.
Don't know terri, but eleanor is one intelligent woman. That comment makes you look like the complete fool that you are.
Of course Jim and most people who have any clue about this know Harper let it slip out in a moment of candor -several people heard it, he was in a very public reception for mathews and himself.. I guess he hadn't got the memo yet to pretend like this wasn't the plan.
Kind of like Jim Fitzpatrick wants to pretend his ranting about no-bid contracts is a fact, and not the ultimate shiny object -“hey, look over there”- to distract from the fact he really wants to secure the contract for his cronies over at Athens. (Lots of creative ways to fund a legal defense fund, right Scotty?)
Fitzpatrick hopes the public can’t see through his gross misrepresentation of the great deal the SanBoard has negotiated. Or...which is worse…he's truly ignorant of how his own Board and 90% of the Sanitary districts manage contracts and keep costs down.
Maybe he’s unhappy that the SanBoard voted to lower our rates this year because it punctures a hole in the fantasy he’s trying to spin.
See the Daily Pilot article at http://www.dailypilot.com/news/tn-dpt-0929-sanitary-20120928,0,2748955.story to find out what’s really going on.
A small quote “The Costa Mesa Sanitary District was recognized with three awards earlier this month at the California Special Districts Assn.'s 2012 Annual Conference in San Diego.
The association's Leadership Foundation, which recognizes special districts for their cautious fiscal practices and sound policies, awarded the Sanitary District with the District of Distinction award.”
Is Jim Fitzpatrick disappointed about this award? Another hole in his fantasy bubble? Any reasonable, responsible SanBoard member should be very proud.
I'm proud of my Irish ancestors who stood up to tyranny. I don't understand people like Fitzpatrick and Monahan, who seem to support Righeimer becoming emperor.
Fitzy's been told not to talk about this anymore. They didn't want it public. Now whose telling the BIG LIE?
Whose the idiots Fitzy?
Just Wondering thinks he knows stuff. Like West, he misses the big picture.
Fitzy came up with the idea.
thanks "what goes up"! wurd.
