Genis, Stephens and Weitzberg Hold Casual Event

  IMPROMPTU GATHERING SCHEDULED FOR TONIGHT

FILLING THE VOID WITH CASUAL CONVERSATION
Since they already had the time blocked off for the now-canceled Costa Mesa United Forum, Costa Mesa City Council candidates Sandra Genis, John Stephens and Harold Weitzberg have announced that they will holding a VERY CASUAL informal gathering Thursday, September 20th (today) to meet, greet and chat with any residents who may be interested in their views.

COMMUNITY CENTER LOBBY AT 6 P.M.
They have arranged to use the lobby of the Costa Mesa Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Avenue - at Lions Park, beginning at 6 p.m. and will stick around for a couple hours to be available to visitors.

NO STRUCTURE, JUST CONVERSATION
Again, I stress that this is a VERY CASUAL event, with no structured program, no moderated questions - just three serious candidates using time they had previously set aside for the canceled forum by making themselves available to the voters of this city in a casual setting to answer questions about their positions on the many important issues facing our city today and into the future.

REALLY CASUAL
Stephens tells me that he's going to bring one or two of his daughters, some balls and bats and his "fun bag" loaded with Wiffle Balls, Spongie Balls and other stuff.  As I said, this is intended to be a casual affair.  See you at 6.

While the FROGS were gathering, the 3M's were campaigning on the Westside and picking up the coveted Orange County Register endorsement. This race is OVER!

As soon as Mrs. Fitzy leaves for work, Jimmy and Barry/Marty probably head to the dead animal room above the dive bar and wait for orders from headquarters down in Newport.

So let me get this straight. 3M's as a group win the coveted OC Register endorsement. Beside Unions, Geoff West and the soon to be unelected No Bid Trash guys, who have the CM FRoG's been endorsed by? Oh yea, go along get along Hornbuckle?

We think what you will see anger and fear at this event.

Looks like Fitzy is a shot caller based on the comments here.

Hummm. I thought the 3M crowd was against "outside influences" or "out of town in influences" in Costa Mesa. Then why are they rejoicing in the OC Register endorsement? Is that not an outside or out of town influence? Very telling what the 3M's are truly about.

We all know that the OC Register is attached to the OCGOP, and of course Riggy begged and pleaded for them to endorse the 3 Morons. It means nothing. The 3 M's need all the help and GOOD press they can get.

Such different choices here. 3M's endorsed by local businesses, families, youth sports, even the OC Register. The other 3, endorsed by AFL-CIO and other outside big labor groups.

This is a no-brainer in November folks!

Hey Phil -
The "other 3" are not endorsed by the AFL-CIO and other outside big labor groups. They've all gone out of their way to specifically decline any union endorsements. I guess that doesn't matter, though, because you'll just make stuff up to fit your version of reality.

We believe Phil is Marty, the old Grant weirdo. We suspect people associated with the council majority might be "rewarding" him. Investigation in progress.

If true, the 3 stooges will have a lot of explaining to do.

A public association with Marty and his odd race views could change the entire election.

Wow. Wyatt thinks the OC Register is an outside influence? You mean that thing that comes to my home in Costa Mesa everyday? Wyatt has been a big champion of public safety unions and this is what he comes back with?

Then we see Marquis have the ignorant audacity to ignore fact and say the AFL CIO did not endorse the CM FRoGs when they did.

It is like the other posters saying that stink eye never happened. Monahan brick was not thrown by a Hater. Mensinger's truck vandalism may have been a mad POP warner parent? CM police union guy follows Riggy home, no charges filed, so let's cast doubt on that?

Really Geoff West? This is the best you can do for our community. Facilitate hatred and lies?

The biggest trouble is that Council Haters say this stuff and read this stuff and they actually believe it. Even worst, they use it to justify future thoughts and actions.

Reality comes to Geoff West and his angry band of Dilusional sheople in November

Why are these 3 hiding from their support? They are bought and paid for by the out of town corrupt unions. Embrace it. Clearly, there are differences in the candidates. Easy choice for the residents!

Jimmy Fitzy and Steve Mensy want to be in public office. Yet, we don't know what they do all day.

Do they have regular jobs? Do they run businesses? Do they do 1099 work? Do they act as house-husbands?

Disclose.

In 2008, when Mr. Righeimer was endorsed by the Register, how did that work out for him? He couldn't even beat Katrina Foley OR Eric Bever in that election!

Oh good... the election is "OVER" according to Barry, Fitzy's a shot caller, and Phil is proud of his no-brainer.

We have not yet begun to fight. 1-2-3 and No on V!

Family Man,
And yet, here you are, too. Do you fit in that definition of "hatred and lies"? Some might think so, and yet you are provided a forum here in which to spew them. Would you prefer me to just "delete" every item I don't agree with on this site? That wouldn't be much fun, would it? If you can find another place that tolerates you, please DO stop posting here and go there. You won't be missed.

Phil, you forgot at least one endorsement, and that would be what appears to be 3/4 of the residents of the City of Costa Mesa.

The AFL CIO did not endorse candidates in the Costa Mesa city council election. That's OCFL, not AFL CIO. Anybody can endorse anybody, but nobody has to accept an endorsement and none of the non-M candidates have accepted any union endorsements.

None of the candidates are "bought and paid for" by labor unions because none have taken any money from any of the labor organizations. They declined any support from labor organizations. Implying that unions have any sway with any of the non-M candidates is simply false. It's just more of the pathetic rhetoric that seeks to demonize workers for accepting what the Republican dominated Costa Mesa city councils have given them in those now-odious contracts.

Unions don't negotiate with themselves. But they can be negotiated with, which is something neither past nor current councils have done well or at all in many cases. Your boys gave the unions those deals. They could unwind them if they wanted to sit down and work it out, but they prefer to avoid negotiation in favor of just trying to change the rules via Righeimer's ridiculous charter, which doesn't even accomplish that.

And now, back to the point of this blog entry (really, have you all failed reading comprehension 101?) Geoff, thanks for letting us all know there will be another opportunity to hear the candidates' views and thanks to them for fulfilling their commitment to the people of Costa Mesa by still showing up. That's integrity. (Since it's in short supply around here I felt compelled to point it out.)

The letter to the editor today in the DP from the NB woman concerning the NPR program on September 13 featuring CM and its current cc union haters hits the nail squarely on the head: we need "to be represented by intelligent caring people who aren't an embarrassment throughout the country." How very true!!

Marquis just flat out lies and the rest do not correct.

Check out the OCFL website. Says AFL CIO right there in the logo.

Also says the represent 96 Unions.

That is a BIG LABOR as big labor gets in Orange county.

But don't let facts get in the way of the Hater Comments. Geoff West does not

Geez Fitzpatrick, all of your posts are so flippin obvious! Just because you change your name from roboto, bebe, wyatt earp, lonely angry meet, etc. doesn’t mean you are fooling anyone. You might want to lay off your favorite buzz words. No-bid trash guys, personal grudge, WWII, facts and data, hope that’s okay, vision, haters, etc., it's getting old. The most hilarious give away is how you weave in hearty praise for yourself in every post. And now you’ve named yourself the shot caller? Dude, you need to have your head examined. Clearly, you do nothing but sit on this blog all day and night. How sad for your family that you are the laughing stock of the town. It’s getting scary to watch how much you get off on being a two-faced infernal traitor and schemer. I hope you don’t have a mental breakdown after you lose your Sanitary District seat. Just try not to think about how stupid you will look when Art Perry and Jim Ferryman win. Oh well, at least you have CM Taxpayers. Fortunately for you, they don’t realize how much you’ll bug the crap out of them yet. Btw, kudos on finally getting that “president” title you’ve been coveting. I’m sure you won’t let THAT go to your head. Lol

@kwahlf, you know why none of those incidents were solved? 1. The night of the Monahan brick incident, his cameras were coincidentally not working. They were however working when he needed to produce exculpatory evidence for Riggy in his "DUI" debacle. 2. Mensinger never called the police to report his alleged vandalism. He instead called the press. No police report, no investigation. 3. And as far as stink eye goes, it was investigated and unfounded. The city hired a private investigator to do an independent investigation. My understanding is the investigator had to hound our mayor to get a statement from him, and he was one of the complainants! Do a freedom of information request on all of them.

These guys don't want investigations. They want incidents that they can flip for sympathy of their cause/agenda, and a quick sound bite.
