I-405 Widening Project Meeting Tonight

MEETING AT OCC TONIGHT
Just a little reminder for you... this evening at the Student Center at Orange Coast College the good folks from the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) will hold a Public Hearing to explain the proposed widening of the I-405.  The meeting will run from 6:00 - 8:00.  The formal presentation begins at 6:30 and will last about 30 minutes.  The remainder of the time the staff will be available to answer questions. VERY IMPORTANT!
This is an important meeting for all Costa Mesa residents, but especially for those who live in the north part of town.  The "preferred" option for this widening - preferred by the OCTA, that is - will add a High Occupancy Toll (HOT) lane and require the demolishing of the relatively new Fairview bridge over the I-405.  That option, shown below,  provides an income stream...

 NO HOMES TO BE REMOVED
I attended the OCTA presentation before the City Council not too long ago.  Despite what some others are saying, none of the options anticipates removing any homes in Costa Mesa but the construction will move some ramps VERY close to existing homes.

COME, HEAR, SPEAK
So, attend the meeting this evening to get the straight scoop on this project and voice your opinion.  This meeting is the first of four to be held, but the only one in Costa Mesa.  You can get more information HERE.

In other news, Costa Mesa Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer today expressed outrage at the move to widen I-405.
"We have bigger priorities in this town," said Riggy. "Long before the 405, they need to widen my MOUTH so that EVERYONE in Orange County can hear my next rant loud and clear!"
