Remaining Candidate Forums

With the Eastside Costa Mesa Neighbors forum now behind us and a big success, there remains three forums to be held before the election on November 4th. Based on the information currently available to me, the following is the schedule of events:

Wednesday, October 15, 2008, the Costa Mesa Chamber of Commerce will host a candidate forum in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 77 Fair Drive, from 6-9 PM. This event will be televised live and replayed on tape through the election on November 4th.

Tuesday, October 28, 2008 the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant will host the final candidate forum this year. This event, will be jointly sponsored by the Orange County Community Congregation Organization (OCCCO) with the participation of other churches in our community. According to organizers, the event will be held in the Fellowship Hall located at 2850 Fairview Road and will start promptly at 6pm and last from one to two hours. This event will be moderated by Jim de Boom, Executive Director of the Interfaith Council and Daily Pilot columnist.

Those of who vote using absentee ballots will still have time to get them in the mail following the last forum, so you may wish to wait to hear how the candidates respond to the questions posed to them that evening before sending your ballot in.
