Medical Marijuana Measure X Rules To Be Discussed Wednesday
BRINGING MEDICAL MARIJUANA PROCESSING TO TOWN
Wednesday, April 5, 2017, the City of Costa Mesa will present the proposed application process, proposed fees and other pertinent information regarding Measure X, passed last November. This meeting will be held in City Council Chambers from 2:00 - 3:30.
MEASURE X DEFEATED MEASURES V AND W
In case you've forgotten already, Measure X was placed on the ballot last year to compete with Measures V and W, to issues placed on the ballot by supporters gathering sufficient signatures in the initiative process. Measure X gathered 54.6% Yes votes and passed handily. Both Measures V and W failed at the ballot box.
RESTRICTS ACTIVITIES TO THE NORTH PART OF TOWN
Measure X restricts Medical Marijuana activities in the city to a small segment of town above the 405 Freeway and specifically prohibits distribution of those products anywhere in The City.

WE'RE ALL STAKEHOLDERS
This meeting Wednesday is described as a "Stakeholders" meeting, which likely means it will be heavily attended by those wishing to establish a Medical Marijuana processing beachhead in our city, and those who represent their interests. However, It's my view that EVERY Costa Mesa resident is, in fact, a "Stakeholder" in this process. I hope to see a few of my neighbors in the chambers Wednesday afternoon.
