Local Election Results 11/21/16

THE COUNT CONTINUES... TICK, TICK, TICK...
The Orange County Registrar of Voters has posted the latest election results as of 5:00 p.m. today, Monday, November 21, 2016.  There remain only 71,505  ballots to be counted.  You can see the details on all results HERE.

COSTA MESA CITY COUNCIL
All relative positions remained the same.  Sandy Genis still leads, with John Stephens 227 votes behind.  Allan Mansoor has solidified his hold on the 3rd position with a 502 vote margin on Mayor Steve Mensinger.  Mensinger extended his lead on Jay Humphrey to 56 votes.  Lee Ramos and Al Melone trail.
COSTA MESA SANITARY DISTRICT
Incumbents Jim Ferryman and Art Perry continue to hold solid leads in this race.  Gary Monahan trails Perry by 4,810 votes.  Jim Fitzpatrick and Christopher Luntsford trail badly.
MESA WATER DISTRICT
Incumbent Jim Fisler continues to hold a large lead over challenger Alex Reich.
GROWTH ISSUES
The citizen-generated item, the Smart Growth Initiative, still is passing by a huge margin - 2-1.  The City-generated Measure Z, designed to fool the voters, is also passing, but by a much smaller margin.
FAIRVIEW PARK ISSUES
The citizen-generated Measure AA, created to save Fairview Park from development, continues to pass by a growing margin - much larger than 2-1.  The City-generated issue designed to fool and confuse the voters is failing at the polls.
MEDICAL MARIJUANA ISSUES
Both citizen-generated medical marijuana measures - V and W - are failing badly at the polls.  The City-generated Measure X, which has no retail sales element in it, is passing.
VOTE-BY-DISTRICTS
The vote-by-districts measure, hijacked by Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer which ignored the will of the people and created a 6 districts scheme and added a directly-elected mayor to the mix, successfully fooled the voters and is passing by nearly a 2-1 margin.  Shame on Righeimer!
MESA WATER HOSTILE TAKEOVER OF CMSD
The bogus measure placed on the ballot by the Mesa Water Board to hoodwink the voters into thinking consolidating both Mesa Water and the Costa Mesa Sanitary District is a good idea.  The false premise used for this effort is despicable.  It is passing.
COAST COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT
All incumbents are holding their seats by wide margins.
NEWPORT MESA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT
All incumbents in these races are holding onto their seats.
74TH STATE ASSEMBLY DISTRICT
Matt Harper is beating Karina Onofre
