He's Back - And Still Wrong!

HAVE NOT MISSED HIM
I've hesitated to mention that old Dennis Popp, the pompous pontificator on the CM Conserve blog, has been in hibernation since January 23rd.  I had assumed that he'd used up all the words that had been rattling around in his cranium, so had gone into a state of suspended animation.  Or, better yet, he just flat gave up.  But, no... we're not that lucky... he's back...

POPP ON BANNING RANCH
Today old Dennis finally produced another blog entry, HERE, this one vilifying those folks who are trying to save Banning Ranch.  Those of you who disagree with him will get agitated when you read the entry.  I apologize in advance for your discomfort and the rise in your blood pressure.

THIS IS 'CONSERVATION'?
I was amused that, near the end of his piece, he tries to provide an example of a responsible conservation organization by using an outfit called Ducks Unlimited, HERE.  He talks about how the members of this organization raise money to buy lands themselves, blah, blah, blah.  What he neglects to mention is that this organization does all this "conservation" so they have more water fowl to KILL!  Yep, they buy and create habitats so they can go blast more flying critters out of the sky for "sport".

SHOULDA KEPT SLEEPIN'...
Methinks old Dennis should have stayed in hibernation.  I can hardly wait to see him huff and puff at the Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee meeting Wednesday night.  The guy is pathetic!

Geoff, lay off Popp. He wasn't talking about "Ducks Unlimited," but something closer to home- "Dunces Unlimited!" OCGOP created a habitat, Costa Mesa, where dunces are protected and helped to thrive- Popp, Fitzpatrick, Mensy, and Ramos, to name a few.

Almost funny if it wasn't tragic is that this dunce ignores the issue of all the extra oil wells drilled at Banning Ranch.

Or maybe toxic fumes can't make his thinking any worse.

I'm not even going to go look at what he wrote (not that I ever did anyway), as he's about as useless as tits on a boar. In Popp's case, it would be tits on a BORE. Anyway, this man will lie about people knowingly. I've got no use for people of that ilk. Even Ramos had the good sense to "duck" him during the election.

His reference to Duck's Unlimited is perfect. Popp is completely
Daffy.

Commented on DP's blog, but not yet published:
Hey, Pop —
Your banging wrench comes across as hitting the wrong drum. NBR has never, NEVER expressed a willingness to sell the 419 acre parcel for any price. Had they ever done so, collections, crowdsourcing, fundraising, and donations would have raised the dough, probably in jig-time. But you can’t raise money to buy something that’s not for sale.
On top of that, you’re ‘way off base to complain that the “Save Banning Ranch” people are advocating eminent domain proceedings. I don’t know from what direction that idea fell into your hat; but if you are going to make wild assertions like that, you should at least consider having a source on it other than the other patrons at Skosh Monahan’s… You could even have gotten that TV anchor, whose name I’ve already forgotten, to give you a quote on it. But I have never heard any stirring of threatened eminent domain from any of the people at Banning Ranch Conservancy.
Is your soul for sale? No? Has anyone ever threatened eminent domain for it? Or is it off the market because it is already in the hands of a developer? I hope you didn’t accept NBR’s lowball bid for it; you could at least have made another dollar on it, thus quintupling the price.
You really ought to confine your comments to truth and opinion — your statement about eminent domain is neither.
