Fairview Park Committee Meeting Tomorrow

FIRST MEETING SINCE SEPTEMBER
It has been a couple months since the Fairview Park Citizens Advisory Committee has met in an open, public forum.  The last time the group was together was for a little field trip to Riverside for a ride on the Live Steamers.  There will be a report on that trip at this meeting.
 TOMORROW AT NCC
The meeting will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. in the Victoria Room at the Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Avenue, Costa Mesa (Lions Park).  You can read the full agenda HERE.

TRAINS, PLANTS AND BOB...
In addition to the train-ride outing report there will also be a presentation on Native Plant Nursery and Parks and Recreation Commissioner Bob Graham on a proposed East Fairview Channel Trail.

THREE ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED
Old Business apparently also includes a discussion of the possibility of a Native Plant Nursery in Fairview Park; Improve/Designate Bike Paths and the creation of a Concrete Path from NW Traffic Signal to SE Traffic Signal at Estancia High School.

LIST OF ITEMS SHELVED FOR NOW...
A list of items tabled until further notice is included at the end of the staff report.

TIME FOR A PAUSE?
At this point, since the City is about to launch off into an update of the Master Plan of Parks and Open Space, it seems appropriate to suggest that this hard-working committee be put on hiatus until the scope of work general direction the new city council prefers can be more tightly defined.  This group has done a good job - I've attended most meetings - and should be thanked for their efforts to date.  However, in my opinion, it seems wise to give them - and the staff supporting them - some time off while the Master Plan comes together.
