Mike Grier To Be Honored Thursday
YOU MAY RECALL MICHAEL GRIER...
Some of you may recall a post on this site more than a year ago in which I told you of my neighbor and friend, Mike Grier, and how he passed away after a brief illness at the age of 51. Click HERE to read what I wrote then.
PLAQUE UNVEILING THURSDAY
Mike Grier may have been the best water polo player to ever play the game in these parts. Some say he was the finest water polo player in the world in the late 1980s. On Thursday, November 20, 2014, at 4:30 p.m., family and friends will gather as a plaque will be unveiled at the pool at Newport Harbor High School - the site of so many of his athletic triumphs - to honor Mike and his contribution to water polo, not only in our area, but internationally, as well. Members of the public are invited to attend this ceremony.
