Great Way To Start A Day!

COFFEE-WITH-A-COP, PART 2, A GREAT SUCCESS
This morning I had a chance to begin my day in a very special way.  I joined many of my fellow-Eastsiders at Shirley's Bagels on 17th Street for the most recent Coffee With A Cop event.
GOOD TURNOUT
For a couple hours beginning at 8:00 a.m. visitors to that very popular bagel and liquid refreshment venue were greeted by members of the Costa Mesa Police Department and treated to a cup of coffee and a chat, if they wished.

CHATTING WITH THE FOLKS
Several members of the CMPD attended and made themselves available to vistors to answer questions about policing, the current status of the CMPD, crime in our city - whatever they wished to discuss.  I was there for the entire time and must state unequivocally that this second such event was another rousing success.
COMMAND STAFF ATTENDED, TOO
Chief Tom Gazsi, Captain Rob Sharpnack, and several other members of the command staff attended this event and were seen having conversations with residents while enjoying morning refreshments.
CANDIDATES ATTEND, AS WELL
City Council candidates Katrina Foley and Jay Humphrey were among those who dropped in for coffee and a visit.
LOOKING FORWARD TO THE NEXT ONE
I'm looking forward to the next event sometime in the near future as the CMPD continues its positive outreach into the community.  At a time when staffing is low and crime is on the rise, maintaining close relationships with the residents of this city is very important for the CMPD, and for us all.
