Friday, June 14th, a college fundraiser for the children of former Costa Mesa Police Detective Mike Delgadillo will be held at the Prado Olympic Shooting Park in Chino. It will be followed by a BBQ at the Pierce Street Annex in Costa Mesa. The announcement below provides all the relevant information.

Am I the only one who sees a double standard here? Granted, there should be something to raise money for his kids, and this is a good cause. But the "lunch" following at Pierce Street? For a man who was so drunk he plowed into a median and killed himself? Without wearing a seat belt and texting before the crash. And he's a sworn officer of the law.
Perhaps they could have chosen some location in Costa Mesa that doesn't bill itself as "A Drinking Establishment".
I gotta agree with the above comment-- mostly, im more disturbed by it
A fundraiser memorial for a guy who killed himself drinking and driving at a local watering hole? What if that wasnt a median he plowed into!? You would think one would keep it low key, at very least not hold it at a bar! The whole thing makes me sick!
I hope the kids get money for college, but i dont think it should be at a memorial for him. Hes the jerk that wasnt thinking of them before he selfishly drove that night- I dont think id feel too proud knowing my college money came from the [my dad is an idiot] fund.
