Fairview Park Wetlands Ribbon-cutting Wednesday
WETLANDS RIBBON-CUTTING
One of the more interesting events occurring in a very busy, short week in Costa Mesa will be the ribbon-cutting at the Fairview Park Wetlands, scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 20th. Here is the invitation. Click on each image for easier reading.
THE PUBLIC IS INVITED
This event marks the grand opening of a remarkable environmental asset in Costa Mesa and the public is invited to attend. Here's an image of the site. The ribbon-cutting will be held at the confluence of five trails beside Placentia Avenue in the center of the image.
PARK-AND-RIDE TO THE SITE
Because parking is limited in the Fairview Park parking lot, and is more than a short walk to the site, arrangements have been made to provide parking for this event at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 2775 Placentia Avenue, and for bus transportation to take visitors to and from the ceremony. Buses will begin operating around 2:00 p.m. according to Alma Reyes, the Costa Mesa city staffer coordinating this event.
GUIDED TOUR
Part of this ribbon-cutting will include a guided walk around the wetlands venue, so visitors are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes. Let's hope the weather cooperates and doesn't wash out this very interesting, worthwhile event. Thanks for the information, Geoff.
This is a great event for our community.
I hope the rain has passed by Wednesday.
I suggest people get out there this year and enjoy because next year Mensinger will submit a motion to charge 5 bucks per visitor. Of course all the money will go to Estancia and Pop Warner football and those groups will be bought once again thinking how great Emporer Steve is.
I've heard that the City Council outsourced all the wildlife in the area as a way to cut down costs on this disaster of a project. What a waste of time and space, kind of like former reject Mayor Bever
I would have thought Steve, the environmentalist, would grab his gun and "harvest" all wildlife.
Eileen - I assumed he dug all the holes and planted all the trees all by himself!
Oh look the haters abound today in the comment blog. How nice.
all the good people were at the event today. not much sigh of the haters and complainers, the do nothings.
Haters, good people, complainers, do nothings... wow, bitter much? What is this, junior high?
Categorizing people in that manner is utterly ridiculous. Grow up
a good group of achievers... What are you 5 years old? Haters! Really? That's all you got?
Aside from your childishness, there are certainly some who have grown to hate the current majority because of their actions. But most i suspect are like myself and really just hate their reckless and selfish actions. Even when they agree on things like pension reforms those same same people dislike the way the majority has gone about it.
ok "nothings shocking" let's not use those categories. let' just use sychophants. puppets, trolls, boys and bootlickers. is that ok?
I don't use any of those terms, and try to refrain from calling people names altogether, but still like to poke the bear a little. I called for the retirement of that sports radio term 'haters' long ago it's so 2008. Regardless, you might want to take 'civil' out of your moniker and just go with WAR, call caps. Good day!
good day sir! i say good day!
