Bever's Bogus Scheme Withdrawn

LATE NOTICE
Late Monday afternoon - the announcement arrived in my inbox at 5:37 p.m. - the City distributed an announcement of a revised agenda for Tuesday's City Council meeting.  As has been happening a lot lately since the change to the new, "improved" web site, the link didn't work.  So, I located the agenda the old fashioned way - which took several more clicks, turning my quest into an aerobic experience.

 BEVER'S SCHEME YANKED
Anyhow, it seems that Mayor Eric Bever's scheme to require more than one council member's approval for appeals and re-hearings has been withdrawn from the agenda.  There is no word about it and, since it was distributed late, no way to get more information from City Hall.

COMMON SENSE?  MAYBE..
So, if you'd planned to show up at the meeting tomorrow evening armed with pitchforks and torches - never mind.  We have no idea why this was withdrawn, so let's just hope it was due to a rare bout of common sense prevailing.

For any of the sitting councilmembers who are running for re-election in November to vote in the affirmative on Item 4 would have been tantamount to poltical suicide. That's why the item was withdrawn.

Typical...If NB4 was indeed pulled from tonight's cc meeting agenda for the reason expressed above by Flo, which most likely is why, then it is yet again another self serving action by 4 malevolent and malfeasant boors (as was their trying to initiate NB4 in the first place). It has nothing at all to do with the fact that it's WRONG! Just one more thing to remember in November!
