19th Street Bridge Meeting Tonight

MOORLACH'S MEETING
As previously mentioned, tonight, Thursday, January 5, 2912, Orange County Supervisor John Moorlach will conduct a town hall-type meeting in Huntington Beach at which the possibility of the construction of a bridge over the Santa Ana River between 19th Street in Costa Mesa and Banning Avenue in Huntington Beach will be discussed.

EADER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

The meeting has been advertised to begin at 7:00 p.m. at Eader Elementary School, 9291 Banning Avenue, Huntington Beach. The map below should be helpful to you if you plan to attend.

ONLY RIGHEIMER SUPPORTS A BRIDGE
The City of Costa Mesa has consistently opposed a 19th Street Bridge since the
early 1990s and the only elected official who has expressed support for a bridge there is our carpet-bagging political opportunist, Mayor Pro Tem Jim Righeimer - a close buddy of Moorlach. It's going to be very interesting to see how this plays out this evening. I plan to attend and will report back later tonight.

PACKED HOUSE ANTICIPATED
This meeting has been widely advertised in Huntington Beach, so I expect there will be a packed house. If you do plan to attend I recommend you arrive early. See you there.

Thanks for attending Pot Stirrer, do you think Moorlach is trying to pit HB vs CM ? Maybe getting the HB folks hot on the idea, thus applying pressure to CM to make a decision ? It's like NB is pitting two cities against each other to get what it wants (Banning Ranch). Let us know what the HB folks think, if you could sir.

I live 1/4 mile from Brookhurst and the roar from the daily rush-hour traffic sounds like the 405 freeway, drowning out normal conversation---even though we've noise-proofed our walls and windows!
I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that neither Moorlach or Hansen live in the raucous sound footprint of this absurd, re-occuring proposal! Just say NO BRIDGE!!

Colin,
I have no idea of Moorlach's motives. Maybe he just wants to flush this issue out of our collective consciousness once and for all. Maybe he's just trying to get the bridge removed from the county master plan of highways. Maybe, but I doubt it. Maybe he'll tell us tonight. We'll see...

Der Rigsheister needs the !9th Street HBridge built so all the future Westside "young professional families" can get their bright offspring to Eader Elementary and Sowers Middle schools much easier...

And all the lucrative Westside CM surfwear companies' employees down to Surf City even faster...

Oh yeah, and the Talbert Reserve "Homeless Population" want more "sleeping accommodations" too.

@ HBridge... now you are talking... with the bridge this will allow the transients easier access from Talbert Park to HB. You may have just sparked a reason why HB will be against it. :)
