Halecrest Neighbors Have A Heart
HALECREST PICNIC TOMORROW
Just a little reminder of the Halecrest Picnic and Open House tomorrow, Saturday, June 18th. It sounds like a terrific event where community members can gather and give a group hug to those city employees and residents that have been laid off or are being threatened with layoff. We're told it's open to EVERYONE - see you there.

I haven't really being following this too closely. Who's lost their job? The flyer mentions those who have recently lost their jobs. Has anyone actually been laid-off? I thought they were just notices, like many teachers get in school districts these days.
Since this is supposed to be Lobdell's last day on the job (3 months are up), maybe the city can use his $150,000 salary for some scheduled layoff retainment to help keep the city looking good instead of for a mouthpiece. As I wrote 3 months ago, though, Lobdell will be retained and the city will say that he's done a great job and is a necessary part of the infrastructure or some phony excuse like that because he was always scheduled to be a permanent employee. I have $50 to the Boys and Girls Club if I am wrong. I just want the hacks at city hall to know that there is at least one CM resident who is not as stupid as they think we are.
Actually in july over 100 city workers part time and full time were laid off. right now over 200 of us have layoff notices and the way that this misdirected, politically motivated council is going, we will be laid off shortly no matter what the cost is to bring in private contractors. Also this picnic is for anyone that lives in the city of costa mesa that has lost a job.
Uh, Bob, guess you missed my previous post - Hatch re-upped Lobdell for another $50,000, which should take him to about Halloween. Send your $50 to the Boys and Girls Club anyhow...
Yes, I missed that. Thanks for the update. Don't tell me what to do, though.
Geez, a little touchy, are we?
Bob sounds just like you at times Geoff! :-) :-)
Ms. Vicki, you're not going to start picking on me again, are you? :-) Welcome back..
I hope Riggy and Menssy don't show up at the Halecrest event- they might try to grab food and re-distribute it to their friends..
No booze, no Mayor Kilt.
The Bever- absent as usual.
Riggy will show up, count the employees, and add the amount of food they eat to the inflated pay charts he passes around. Now their total compensation will be even higher. Those union thugs, they think they can just eat whatever they want!!!
Is it political if I just wear my "Don't Blame Me....I voted for Chris McEvoy" t-shirt?
Feeding the animals...
You forgot a vital ingredient in your calculations...there will also be a check box next to each employee specifying whether they ate healthy or unhealthy food. If healthy then you must multiply their pensions by 1.5 as they will live longer and subsequently make Riggy angry!
Don't forget the cost of the special security team, overtime for the pd,valet parking, and the CM chest bumping team, Lobdell to prepare a release, Duarte to do a brief and the tempoorary employee to stand in for the beave.. That may be a quorm, so you would need court reporters for notes and CM tv for a video record. And last but not least a budget amend for the special consultnt
Riggy will also write down the names of each employee that eats and then lodge a complaint against them for being corrupt and accepting free food.
Brett, saying no one has lost their job is like saying ABLE is still around. It's only a matter of time before they won't report to work. By the way, the helicopter that will be outsourced is twice as loud as the one we have. We had it good before Righeimer came. Attacking the unions is one thing, but destroying our city in the process is another. Even if our city didn't use union labor at all, only someone like Righeimer would want to be in control of millions of dollars of contracts up for grabs.
