Foley & Righeimer on "Which Way, LA"
FOLEY & RIGHEIMER, TOGETHER AGAIN
In case you missed it, Katrina Foley and Jim Righeimer appeared with venerable Los Angeles newsman Warren Olney on KCRW, 89.9 FM on Olney's program, "Which Way, LA". Here's a link that will take you to the archived video. See the image above. Drag the scroll bar across to that point adjacent to the line separating "Nuclear" and "City", as shown - that's where their segment starts. They're on for about 10 minutes. Late in the discussion listen for a familiar name. :-)

Thanks for raising my blood pressure again! I can't believe Jim Righeimer saying that "the companies we're looking to outsource with are looking to hire our employees."
Only one RFP has even been sent out yet. How can he possibly know what companies "we're looking to outsource with," much less whether they are "looking to hire our employees?"
Either Jim Righeimer is the Wizard of Oz and is directing everything from behind the curtain, or he's lying. Either way, shame, shame, shame on him!
“I am here to speak for a woman sitting right over there” whines Katrina Foley …
Ummm, actually Katrina Foley was working with the CMPD all night. The NY Times article is a good one. In there it talks about the negotiation strategy of the Unions called Operation Domino. The Union finds one City to buy into their “we are all going to die” fear. Then they write contracts with comp Cities. They go to those Cities and say you had better pay what the other City gave, or you will never be able to hire good public safety. And so on. Until Costa Mesa becomes the highest paid City in Southern California.
I know declare Katrina Foley shall go by the name of “Katrina the Domino”.
Push her over, and she will spend $35 million in reserve funds to make sure cops and fireman continue to fund her campaigns, show up at her events and allow her to continue to give away turkeys in this City.
Listening to her wine on the radio made me think that if she were still on Council they might still be there. Hi Ho, Hi Ho, back to the School Board she will go.
Katrina the Domino!
Very impressed with Katrina Foley.
Righeimer actually admits he's going to pull another Triangle Square on us! I have noticed when Righeimer uses his family as a human shield or plays up being a victim it's to dodge the obvious truth (like how he will be using tax payer dollars to buy hotels).
Righeimer did a good job getting the graffiti tagger vote though. I'll give him that.

Jim Righeimer knows little if nothing about running a successful company. Case in point- his own financial ruin. The RFP for the Building Inspectors/Staff came back with numbers a month ago. Council chose to ignore the figures because basically to outsource was about the same price to keep the employees. NOT WHAT he wanted to hear; therefore, he opened the RFP to the public AGAIN. These BOZOS want to manipulate the figures. SOMEONE get the Attorney General involved as Costa Bell is going to send shockwaves through this entire county when the truth comes out.
Katrina Foley senses a loss of power and is behaving poorly.
Katrina the Domino, that’s funny. An alternate is Katrina the Menace. Like Dennis she leaves a trail of dirt behind her for others to clean up.
Also know that the School Board does not like her and is concerned that she serves on the CM High Foundation. The Foundation can’t stand her. Her tactics are not new. But this is the first time her handing out turkey to the community on the backs of others has been observed by some.
Phil and Frank are getting pressure from many sides to encourage her to resign. The more people that Katrina Foley comes into contact with is more opportunity to demonstrate who she really is. In my opinion.
Good Luck School Board Katrina is a handful. Maybe she can do some good over there. She sure is angry about losing power on the Council.
Good job Righeimer!
Domino - "The NY Times article is a good one. In there it talks about the negotiation strategy of the Unions called Operation Domino. And CEOs and other higher level officers don't do this with their positions, trying to one up each other, till the pay is outrageous, all with the approval of various boards, many of which are filled by these very same CEOs and their ilk ? I don't see a problem with middle class people trying to keep the wages and benefits they have earned and worked for. We don't know the amounts of these increases, for all we know, they might have to use this tactic to keep up with inflation, sort of like a realistic COLA raise (which they never are, 3% does not cover the amount of real inflation). Let's not try to bring down all the worker's wages, why don't we try to increase the standard of living for everyone.
Katrina Foley disturbs the brain dead "stepford" zombies on the School Board just like she shook up the robot Council. She asks questions and does to much preparation for the meetings and is just a nuisance by getting in the way of what the board/council majority decided to do before the meetings started. Very annoying person who believes in representative government by the people for the people. She actually works at being a representative by reaching out to the public and discussing their concerns. She really makes it more difficult to get "things" done. Just stirs up the media and citizen lambs and jeopardizes doing the District or City business "as usual" including the wasteful spending of taxpayer money. She genuinely cares and will not be bullied into line (submission) by the Board or Council.
Colin said, "Let's not try to bring down all the worker's wages, why don't we try to increase the standard of living for everyone." Excellent idea.
The anti-public-employee whiners are kind of like the kid who says, "I can't build a good sand castle, so I'll knock yours down instead." If I got laid off without notice, why should public employees get 6 months? If I lost my pension or got a severe pay cut, why shouldn't public employees suffer the same? Let's bring us all down to the lowest common denominator.
Wouldn't it be better to talk about how things can be improved for all of us? Look at the budget and additional revenue options to see how City employees can keep their jobs, they and the City can invest in the community, and we can all benefit.
Or, on a larger scale, look at private business (the Council majority's model) where CEOs make 300-400 times the average salary of their employees - employees who are being laid off and are losing their pensions because of a recession caused by greed in the mortgage industry and on Wall Street. This is the recession that caused the fiscal crisis for the City, before which we didn't have a City budget problem. Where's the outrage against that? No, it's all "greedy public employees" and "union thugs" that are at fault. Talk about "revisionist history!"
There may be a need to reform public employee pensions, but let's at least keep it in perspective.
So now Riggy's foot soldiers are attacking Katrina Foley.
Conclusion:
She must be trying to do the right thing and help Costa Mesa.
Katrina is a voice of reason that holds her city and the citizens as well as the employees close. She is doing a ton for the kids and is always promoting CM in some way.
"Fact of the matter is" she has the huevos to confront Riggy, and if her buddy mensi didnt encourage her to run for the NMUSD she would be a major thorn in Riggy's side and a second voice of reason.
BTW, why does Riggy get to do all the interviews, I thought he wanted a "LEADER" in Monahan to be mayor for these situations, someone to say "NO" when necessary. I guess Jimmy told him to say NO to all these types of interviews so Riggy can do them.
Finally, as a stockholder in this city business, when they buy up all these hotels I would like to be consulted and have a voice.
Valan2 eloquently put. You hit the nail right on the head.
