Hot Feet Guaranteed

OUCH, OUCH, OUCH!
Monday evening the irrepressible Barbara Venezia will host the Feet To The Fire forum at Costa Mesa's Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Avenue (Lions Park). The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and is scheduled to run until 9:00 p.m.

INQUISITORS
Joining Venezia will be Register columnist Frank Mickadeit, Daily Pilot Editor John Canalis, Newport Beach Independent Editor Roger Bloom and Voice of OC Editor Norbert
o Santana, Jr.

VICTIMS

They will toast the phalanges of Jim Righeimer, Colin McCarthy, Wendy Leece and Nick Berardino on the question: Should Costa Mesa be run more like a business?

INCREASED TENSION
The gathering promised to be just a little tense, but the fact that a brick with a note attached to it was tossed through the door of Mayor Gary Monahan's pub in the early hours of Saturday will certainly add to that tension.

CMTV TO COVER
It's my understanding that Dane Bora and Brad Long of CMTV will be present to tape the event for future viewing.

BIG TIME ATTENTION
Adding to the fun of this week is the fact that New Yorker Magazine writer Tad Friend will be in town to attend the forum, the council meeting on Tuesday and interview several individuals as he gathers information for a future article about Costa Mesa.

You realize this is the fourth, count 'em, FOURTH time you have referred to Barbara as "irrepressible" in this blog?

Might be time for a thesaurus.

Geez, Honeyman, don't be such a grouch! What would you prefer? boisterous, ebullient, enthusiastic, insuppressible, unrestrained, unstoppable?

The definition of "irrepressible" is: effervescent, vivacious. Works for me, no matter how many times I write it.

That's just it, Geoff. I DO expect a more diverse group of adjectives considering your wealth of vocabulary.

Here's some to help you out with another Costa Mesan often in the news: Lilliputian, bantam, bitsy, bitty, button, little, midget, mini, miniature, minute, peewee, pint-sized, pocket, pocket-sized, small, teensy, teensy-weensy, teeny, teeny-weeny, undersize, wee, weeny

Honeyman, thanks for the late afternoon chuckle. :-) I enjoyed your "little" list, but think I might get into trouble trying to incorporate some of those near the end, lest I be accused of describing an anatomical appurtenance instead of physical stature. :-)

i think it very rude that honeyman would refer to Leece's brain with those adjectives. stop with the hate already everybody.

Geoff, just out of curiousity, how did you know the brick was thrown 3 times at Gary's window?

Just curious, that "fact" was from early reports of the event. We do know, based on later reports, that the brick was chucked at least twice - once (or more) at the big window and once (or more) at the glass section of the door - where it actually broke the class and ended up inside the pub.
