Group Home Applications Available Now!

APPLICATIONS PROCESSED IN ORDER RECEIVED
Today the City of Costa Mesa announced that permit applications to operate group homes in single family neighborhoods are available and will be processed in the order received.  You can read the full text of the announcement HERE.

DO IT RIGHT OR GET BUMPED TO THE REAR
One of the interesting elements is the repeated reminders to submit COMPLETED applications or suffer being shoved to the end of the line once the rejected application is complete.  Watch for the stampede of applicants.

It's going to be very interesting to watch this latest litigation nightmare play out.  One more chance for attorneys to pad their retirement plans thanks to the taxpayers of the City of Costa Mesa.

Sacramento Bandits To Be Sued For "Theft"

STATE DEMANDS MONEY!
The City of Costa Mesa announced today that plans legal action against The State of California following a demand that The City hand over $2.5 million in loan payments it received the past two fiscal years from the former Costa Mesa Redevelopment Agency.  See the press release HERE.

HATCH IS TICKED-OFF!
Perhaps the most interesting part of this press release is the quotation from City CEO Tom Hatch, who said, "This is outright theft by the state, and it's an outrage to Costa Mesa taxpayers."  I agree.


MAY LOSE THE ENTIRE DEBT
The worst part of this - besides staring at more $500 per hour legal fees - is the fact that it might mean that The City will be screwed out of the remainder of the original loan made to the Redevelopment Agency more than 40 year ago - $9.8 million!




CHARTER YAPPERS WILL START AGAIN
And, a byproduct of this event may be the caterwauling we'll hear from proponents of converting to a Charter City - who may yap that "This never would have happened if we were a Charter City.", which is a bunch of manure.  It would have had NO effect at all.

LAWYER'S RETIREMENT FUND GROWS
So, the litigious life in Costa Mesa moves forward - what would it be without a lawsuit or two?  It's a heck of a way to run a city.
