The more I think about the homeless population growth in our community the more I know it is the majority's fault.
There are pillars to being homeless. Mental illness, substance abuse, bad luck or any combination there of.
The majority cut our cmpd narcotic division. They would have arrested and scared off drug dealers that prey on the homeless.
There is no magic bullet solution, but don't throw away dampening measures.
Shame on them, this is part of their legacy
Hope to see you there, Chris. Some people are going to be surprised. It's just the facts, which is a novelty in some quarters.
Let us, as a community, understand and get some facts. Police, fire, SLH's are huge issues. How does our city stop the hemorrhaging of city staff? How do we change the anti-resident attitude, the anti-public employee attitude of those who keep us safe while putting tgeir own lives in jeopardy? IT BEGINS NOV. 8....Genis-Humphrey-Stephens. You, the resident have an obligation to your city to be informed and use your voice.
Very important that residents get the facts about what has happened to our police department and our fire department. Your safety is at risk. You residents need to find out why. Its time for the city residents to have answers. Please join this town hall meeting and get the facts. We need to make changes in our city council for the very safety of our families. This is not a joke when our safety and that of our families are at stake.
The current majority and the others in their group that have run for office take the same tactic. Find a group to blame and say that only they can fix it. With Mansoor it was illegal aliens, then Jim and Steve made public employees the bogeyman, and now it is people who live in certain motels. Let's be positive about what we can do. The so called solutions of the past certainly didn't work.
The way this council does things is mind boggling. They are so blatantly conceited, self centered and narcissistic it's mind blowing. I do love that they take credit for the rebounding revenues in the economy and city. Check the numbers from 2009, 2010 revenues and expenses. During the recession the city staff and officials cut expenditures drastically. I believe the expenditures got as low as $109,000,00 in 2010. Now the revenues have risen to what $140,000,000. Of course there's going to be a surplus. Even with increased spending that revenue increase is huge. It's the economy stupid. Hopefully people see that.
Well, what do you call a surplus? Preliminary numbers show the that expected revenue is less than expected expenditures. What kind of math makes that a surplus?
Our councilmen have come out once again against the CMFA, saying that they want the overtime. The councilmen know they are lying while they are saying that. What a disgusting thing to say. Not only is the massive amount of overtime costing our fire and paramedics to be overworked and overtired, which places us at risk, it costs THEIR FAMILIES. There is a huge toll on their families to have them gone 80 hours a week or more. Their kids are growing up without their dads. Is our councilmen so shallow to think that these men wouldn't want to be with their family given a choice? What a horrible thing to say. Mensinger and Righeimer are reprehensible.
But we notice that our councilmen are building their new homes without hesitation. They take time and cancel council meeting off to go to developer events as they wish. There seems to be a huge problem in our city and it points directly to our councilmen.
