More Development At Planning Commission Meeting
FIRST MEETING OF THE NEW FISCAL YEAR
The Costa Mesa Planning Commission, guided by Chairman Rob Dickson, will meet again at 6:00 in City Council Chambers at City Hall on Monday, July 11, 2016 in a meeting with more development for them to consider. Read the full agenda HERE.
SLICING ONE LARGE LOT INTO TWO
Public Hearing #1, HERE, is a tentative parcel map for a chunk of property in my neighborhood, at 1951 Tustin Avenue. The owner plans to demolish a 1935 single story home on a lot of more than 12,000 square feet and subdivide it into two lots for future development. It's all legal - meets the codes - but it is interesting to note that both lots exceed the 6,000 square foot minimum for the R-1 Zone, but one is just 6,045. A few months ago neighbors right across Tustin raised a ruckus about a lot in their contiguous neighborhood that would have had three 6,000 square foot lots. They forced the owner to come back with a different plan because they didn't like it. We'll see how this one goes tomorrow night.
EXPANDING VIVANTE
Public Hearing #2, HERE, is an expansion of the Vivante facility on Monrovia Avenue on the far Westside of Costa Mesa. It requests a change in the existing Master Plan to convert previously-approved office space into a four story, 111 unit independent and assisted living building; a Senior Fitness Center and a Community Event Center.
ANOTHER SMALL LOT DEVELOPMENT...
Public Hearing #3, HERE, is another small lot development at 155 East Flower Street. The two-unit subdivision replaces two existing units.
...AND IT'S SISTER
Public Hearing #4, HERE, is a companion development from the same organization at 165 East Flower Street. It will replace a small home and shed with two single family homes.
WATCH IT...
I'm not attending this meeting, but will try to watch some of it and report on it.
