A VERY Busy Week Ahead In Costa Mesa

GONNA BE A LONG WEEK
For those of us who try to attend most important meetings in Costa Mesa, next week it going to be a real workout.  I'll give you a brief summary of several meetings over the next few days, and circle back with separate posts on some of them.

MONDAY, NOVEMBER 16, 2015
Fire Station No. 1 Reconstruction Neighborhood Meeting - 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.
This meeting will be held at the current Fire Station No. 1 at 2803 Royal Palm Drive and will be hosted by the Fire Department and the Public Services Department to discuss and receive input from the community on this project.  Read the announcement about this meeting HERE.
TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 17, 2015
City Council Meeting, City Council Chambers, 5:45 p.m.
Beyond the items on the Consent Calendar, this meeting has "only" three other items on the agenda, HERE.  However, each of those are really big items.  They are:
  • Old Business #1 - Second reading of the rezone and approval for site-specific density of 54 dwelling units per acre for the site of the Costa Mesa Motor Inn, HERE.
  • Old Business #2 - Second reading of ordinances regarding group homes and other facilities in Multi-family (MFR) zones, HERE.
  • New Business #1 - This is the delayed consideration of the proposed new Donald Dungan Library, Neighborhood Community Center and Lions Park Improvements, HERE.


WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2015
Bikeway and Walkability Committee Meeting
This meeting will be held at the Costa Mesa Senior Center, 695 West 19th Street beginning at 6:30 p.m. and the agenda is available HERE.  The committee will continue on with the definition of goals, objectives, policies and programs for the Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan.
THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2015
Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting
This is a special meeting, called because the normal meeting, scheduled for the following week but canceled because it would have fallen on Thanksgiving Day.  The commission will meet in City Council Chambers at City Hall beginning at 6:00 p.m.  The big item on the agenda involves new rules and a restricted entry access entry for the Costa Mesa Bark Park, HERE.
