A comment about what these awards are for... this incideent started for the officers involved when they responded to a domestic violence report at a residence.
They heard shots being fired inside as they arrived.
It was unknown how many people were in there but what was clear was someone was shooting somebody else.
There was no time to wait for swat or negotiate. They went in to try to save life at the risk of their own and they fully expected to go face to face/gun to gun with the shooter.
To do that to try to save somebody else, takes the kind of person you would hope make up your police dept.
These are the same people that our council majority call over paid union thugs with comments about how in this city they never have to do anything dangerous (I believe Mensinger said something to that effect).
Righeimer declared war on the CMPD the day he got in and nothing has changed except the way he's been told to go about it by his GOP handelers.
Don't be surprised if some of the officers receiving these awards aren't here in a year from now.

Thank you for your service. However, if anyone no longer wishes to work here , please stop complaining and don't let the door hit you on the way out. Thanks to those that wish to stay.

Thank you CM officers for setting the bar so very high. You earn what taxpayers pay you. When you suit up you don't know what the day beholds. We do have the bestest because we know you want to serve residents professionally and with compassion. I have experienced first hand your service to my family during difficult times. Proud of you too Officer Nicole Brown having known you since you were in Brownies at MCA. Sorry I have to miss this. I'll be at juvenile hall overseeing art classes today.
