OC Weekly "Best Of" Awards Announced
IN CASE YOU WERE WONDERING

"BEST OF"....
Over at The OC Weekly, the provocative alternative news source in these parts that still does some of the best investigative reporting in our area, Editor Gustavo Arellano and his band of merry minions have announced their "Best Of" awards this week. I always find these selections of interest, mostly because they continue a tradition of being controversial and fun. I began paying attention to them three years ago, when they named A Bubbling Cauldron the Best Blog for 2008. As I said, file this under "for what it's worth"... :-)
NOTABLE 2011 RECIPIENTS
The following are a few of the awards of local interest from the People and Places section, including links to the individual comments in the OC Weekly online.
Best Voice For The Little Guy, Nick Berardino
Best Political Coup - 2011 - Repair Costa Mesa
Best Protesting Group - Orange County Fairground Preservation Society
LAST YEAR
Last year they recognized the following familiar faces:
Best City to Live In - Costa Mesa
Best Charity - Someone Cares Soup Kitchen
Best Political Protester - Sandy Genis
KICK BACK, CHILL OUT AND ENJOY
So, relax and enjoy. If you want to see all the lists, go to the OC Weekly Best Of 2011 site, HERE, and choose your category. And, above all, don't get your shorts in a knot - this is intended to be fun.

Yeah...Last year Costa Mesa was "The best city to live in". No such award this year, hmmmm I wonder what has changed?
Ah, our pals at the OC Weekly just make up categories as they go along. It's all in the name of good fun - kinda. :-)
@Geoff
Nice new picture of Pigheimer!!! What a great smile!!!
is this an April FOOLS edition? Repair Cm is full of lies and trashed our City. Genis is a joke who loses everything she fights for. What next, Chief Stavely for best written word? I don't read the oc weekly so maybe it is a joke. But if they are serious they are way out of touch. Genis and Repair CM LOL
The only thing I read the OC Weekly for are the hooker ads in the back page.
That's more information than I need, thank you very much. :-)
By the way, feral390, this year the OCWeekly chose Seal Beach as the best city to live in. Talk about unfortunate timing!
Pot Stirrer: I'm MANAGING editor, but gracias for the love!
Unanimous: Drinking from the same fetid fountain as Riggy?
Gustavo,
Of course you are! Forgive me for not giving proper attribution to your lofty position. :-) I've often contemplated what it must be like to attempt to ride herd on your cast of characters. Kudos for the great job you do...
Gustavo,
Then were you responsible for that terrible piece on Costa Mesa that had all those errors?
Will Swaim tore it apart.
I was embarrassed for you and the rest of the gang.
Too Many Oops is one big oop. Will Swaim a credible source? HaHaHaHa. That is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time.
Too Many: What Oops Needs said!
