Marietta Garlich Passes Away
It is with much sadness that I report to you today that Marietta Garlich, loving wife of Costa Mesa activist Bruce Garlich, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home early this morning.
Some may know that Marietta had been bravely fighting a particularly nasty version of cancer for several years.
I've only known Marietta for a few years, but considered her a good friend. She had a wonderful sense of humor - essential for a wife whose husband is so involved in community activities. A very giving person, she was a activist/volunteer in her own right. Marietta and I always enjoyed a good chat about sports, particularly about the accomplishments of her favorite golfer, Tiger Woods. As recently as this past weekend we shared some chuckles about golf and basketball.
Our condolences go out to Bruce, his family and to Marietta's many friends on this sad day. Plans for services have not been announced at this date.

A little piece of everyone who knew this wonderful lady passed away this morning. A tremendous loss for Bruce and his family. There are a lot of golfers where she is and I am sure she will be able to tee it up with Hogan, Sneed, and Bobby Jones. They are in for a treat when they meet this lady.
Best wishes to Bruce.
My sincere condolences to Bruce and his family.
Best wishes indeed.
I met her a year ago. She was a great lady. My condolences to Mr. Garlich and his family.
Bruce, I am so sorry for your loss. May God Bless and grant you comfort Bruce.
Marietta was one of the warmest souls I've ever met. Honest, funny, and totally selfless. Our thoughts are with you, Bruce.
