MY QUESTION ANSWERED
Well, I guess that question I asked on a comment thread last week was partially answered last night. I asked a commentor with whom I was having a "conversation" just how far Mayor Jim Righeimer and his supporters would go to win the election in November.
BAD MANNERS, POOR JUDGMENT
Last night, at a "meet and greet" event for council candidates Katrina Foley and Jay Humphrey and Orange County Water District Board candidate Wendy Leece, Righeimer and some of his minions crashed the event and attempted to make Foley look bad before the eyes of the the three dozen voters assembled to hear what she and the others had to say.
THREE STOOGES PLUS ONE
Several reports from the event, including directly from Foley, Humphrey and Leece, informed me that Righeimer, Mayor Pro Tem Steve Mensinger, Mesa Water District Board candidate Ron Amburgey and Costa Mesa Sanitary District candidate Chuck Perry wandered into the meeting at the Greenleaf Mobile Home Park on the Westside of town, hunkered down and then began asking aggressive and challenging questions of Foley. At one point Righeimer was so rude, interrupting Foley during a response to a question, that Leece had to remind him that this was not a council meeting and he should just be quiet. I'm told the assembled group did not take kindly to their interruption of the event, and that the mayor was actually jeered.
THE EXCUSE FOR EVERYTHING!
This, of course, is bad form - even for them. Reports from the scene indicate that, when challenged on the issue, Righeimer is quoted as having said, "It's only politics." - as though bad manners and equally bad judgment can simply be brushed aside as "politics". That tells you a lot about the man.
FAIR IS FAIR, RIGHT?
So, I guess it will be OK for Foley, Humphrey and Leece to waltz into any future fundraiser/meet and greet held for any of those men and just begin asking probing questions and interrupting, right? Fair is fair! After all, "It's only politics."
OCGOP goons doing what they do best- looking stupid.
ReplyDeleteThey are clearly targeting Foley this election. Whether they are convinced Jay will win a seat and think she is the most vulnerable or just being their typical misogynist selves, it appears obvious from the dictators, er, mayors "performance" at the first forum and the various insults his sycophant bootlickers are throwing around all of social media, they are gunning for Katrina. I also believe they think running Mrs. Simpson will take away votes from the other woman in the election.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe they just stopped by because they heard refreshments were served and craved Diet Cokes. Nah, if free food was offered, Fitzy would have been there too.
I don't know why the residents of the mobile home park didn't stand up and demand he leave. 50 or more people can drive their point home. There is no excuse for this pig's behavior.
ReplyDeleteWhens the next Meet the Mayor? lol
ReplyDeleteWe can't expect anything better than boorish, classless behavior from those losers. Foley, Humphreys, and Leece would never act that way. They have more class and intelligence in their little pinky toes than those 4 clowns have put together. Had they been drinking prior to deciding to do this? I mean, why would they possible do this other than pure stupidity? Tools and Fools! BTW sociopaths don't consider the consequences of their actions before acting - clearly the RIGmeister didn't consider what the consequences that his actions last night will have toward himself this time.
ReplyDeleteIt's obvious they have micro- aggression tendencies when it comes to women - or in their case, macro-aggression. Bullies travel in packs.
ReplyDeleteIf someone does go to one of Jim's events, it should be a group of men. This is not a male-female election. It's a group of people who want to sell Costa Mes to the highest bidder vs. a group who wants the city to be a good place to live.
And I'm sure the ONLY reason Fitz wasn't part of the bully brigade (he does love to bully) was because he was too busy approving more high density building that CM residents DON'T want at the PC meeting last night.
ReplyDeleteWill this merit a mention in Barbara's column?
ReplyDeleteThese guys have no class, no manners and no clue.
ReplyDeleteI wish the residents there had booted them out.
Riggy and Co. behaved like thugs and should be treated accordingly.
Residents, please take note.
You don't have to put up with this garbage.
Throw the jerks OUT next time!
They aren't fit for public office!
Geoff, Here's a headline for you: " Righeimer Creates Quite a Stench, Goes Above and Beyond to Strengthen the 'Brand'"!
ReplyDeleteNot to take away from the RIGmeister's horrible behavior, but let's not forget that Ron Ambergy, who's also up for election in NOvember - running for a water or San board seat, was part of the RIGmeister's entourage last night. Not surprising he made the poor decision to accompany the RIGmeister considering he makes clueless, classless comments, such as the one he made about how he thinks "the Mexicans" would like a vegetable garden in Fairview Park!
And do we know if the RIGmeister actually signed the Code of Fair Campaign Practices (ie campaign ethics)?
I just can't wait to hear how the RIGmeister will spin this one!!
Geoff, I'd like to amend my headline suggestion: "Righeimer Creates Quite a Stench, Goes Above and Beyond to Strengthen the 'Brand'; Ramos Finally Wakes Up and Smells the 'Brand', Furious with Righeimer, Mensinger, Amburgey, and Perry!"
ReplyDeleteI forgot to mention in my previous post that Chuck "Swill" Perry is also up for election in NOvember. (Swill is what he called the opinions of those who aren't RIGmeister sycophants at a cc mtg when he got up to brown nose the CCM Union.)
Remember in NOvember!!!
And Monahan quacks about Tim Lewis' toilets not having class? He need look no further than to the left on the dais.
ReplyDeleteWhat do you know? Barbara V's column in the Pilot did address this event, but from Jim's point of view. No mention of his interrupting/disrupting the meeting. How can she profess to be unbiased? She prints one person's side of the story week after week, and it always seems to be the same side.
