City Hosts OCC Expansion Plan Meeting Tonight

INFORMATIONAL MEETING ON OCC EXPANSION PLANS
Tonight the City of Costa Mesa will host what is expected to be a short meeting at a private residence near the campus of Orange Coast College to inform neighbors of the potential impacts of the current expansion plans being discussed by officials of the college and the college district.

CITY STAFF ON HAND
The meeting will be held at a private residence at 222 Hanover Drive beginning at 6:00 p.m.  See the map.  City staff and officials will be on hand to explain their view of this very aggressive expansion plan.  You can read about it on the OCC site HERE.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS
According to Ernesto Munoz, Director of Public Services, the traffic impacts alone are worthy of concern.  He tells us that it is anticipated the project as currently planned for final build-out may generate in excess of 17,000 daily trips in the heart of Costa Mesa.  That's nearly double the anticipated traffic impact of the Banning Ranch project on Costa Mesa streets if that project goes forward.

BE THERE...
 See you there.

  1. Yeah, in Riggy's world, expanding a college is bad. They should have proposed "Live/Study" units...

So glad the RIGmeister took all those residents' valuable time discussing (and stressing over) plans that OCC Trustees decided awhile ago not to use!! Thank goodness Mary Hornbuckle finally informed the crowd of that minor detail. Jay's suggestion to talk to OCC Trustees first, although poo-pooed by the RIGmeister, was actually the right, and obvious, approach to take.
